Gravitational Scattering in the ADD-model at High and Low Energies [PDF]
Gravitational scattering in the ADD-model is considered at both sub- and transplanckian energies using a common formalism. By keeping a physical cut-off in the KK tower associated with virtual KK exchange, such as the cut-off implied from a finite brane ...

Due to the shear strain in the plane of the slab, the parts of the slab remote from the steel beam lag behind the part of the slab located in its proximity. This shear lag effect causes a non-uniform stress distribution across the width of the slab. As a

In medium effects on the $\phi$ meson
The temperature dependence of the $\phi$ meson mass and its decay width ($\phi \rightarrow K \bar{K}$)have been studied from an effective non-linear chiral Lagrangian in $SU(3)$.

The Delta-Hole model at Finite Temperature [PDF]
The spectral function of pions interacting with a gas of nucleons and Delta-33-resonances is investigated using the formalism of Thermo Field Dynamics. After a discussion of the zero Delta-width approximation at finite temperature, we take into account a

Neutral Evolution as Diffusion in phenotype space: reproduction with mutation but without selection
The process of `Evolutionary Diffusion', i.e. reproduction with local mutation but without selection in a biological population, resembles standard Diffusion in many ways.

Shear Lag in Reinforced Concrete T-Beams with Web Openings [PDF]
In this paper, an extensive study is carried out 18 beams on the behavior of T-beams (8 with web openings, 10 without openings). Compressive strains distribution at the flanged are investigated with the presence of the openings in web to recheck the ...

Effective width of steel-concrete composite box girder bridges: a review and method comparison
Steel-concrete composite girders have non-uniform stress distribution on the slab, presenting maximum stresses next to the webs of the girder. This phenomenon is known as shear lag effect. To understand this effect, there is the effective width concept,

The Effective Matter Potential for Highly Relativistic Neutrinos
We investigate matter effects on highly relativistic neutrinos. The self-energy of neutrinos is determined in an electron or neutrino background taking into account resonance and finite width effects of the gauge bosons. We find minor changes compared to

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
