The Minimal Model of a Diphoton Resonance: Production without Gluon Couplings
We consider the phenomenology of a resonance that couples to photons but not gluons, and estimate its production rate at the LHC from photon-photon fusion in elastic pp scattering using the effective photon and narrow width approximations.

Quasiparticle Properties in Effective Field Theory [PDF]
The quasiparticle concept is an important tool for the description of many-body systems. We study the quasiparticle properties for dilute Fermi systems with short-ranged, repulsive interactions using effective field theory.

Finite pion width effects on the rho-meson [PDF]
We study the influence of the finite damping width of pions on the in-medium properties of the rho-meson in an interacting meson gas model at finite temperature. Using vector dominance also implications on the resulting dilepton spectra from the decay of the rho-meson are presented.

Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Width of the longitudinal magnon in the vicinity of the O(3) quantum critical point
We consider a three-dimensional quantum antiferromagnet in the vicinity of a quantum critical point separating the magnetically ordered and the magnetically disordered phases.

This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

The influence of droplet size on line tension
Within the effective interfacial Hamiltonian approach we evaluate the excess line free energy associated with cylinder-shaped droplets sessile on a stripe-like chemical inhomogeneity of a planar substrate. In the case of short-range intermolecular forces

Effective Widths and Effective Number of Phonons of Multiphonon Giant Resonances [PDF]
We discuss the origin of the difference between the harmonic value of the width of the multiphonon giant resonances and the smaller observed value. Analytical expressions are derived for both the effective width and the average cross-section.

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...
