Cholesterol‐enriched plasma membranes in hepatocellular carcinoma impede drug penetration. Cholesterol (+)‐liposomes act as membrane‐specific detergents, extracting cholesterol and reducing barrier function without cytotoxicity. Following endocytosis, cholesterol transfers from endosomes to liposomes and is metabolized in the ER.

Adipocyte Myoglobin Is a Determinant of Energy Expenditure and a Potential Target to Limit Obesity
Myoglobin, known as a muscle oxygen‐carrying protein, is shown to play a key role in fat cells that burn energy. Loss of myoglobin reduces the body's ability to generate heat and increases obesity risk, while restoring it improves metabolism. The study identifies myoglobin as a regulator of fat burning and a potential target to enhance energy ...

Inactivation of Efflux Pumps Abolishes Bacterial Biofilm Formation
Bacterial biofilms cause numerous problems in health care and industry; notably, biofilms are associated with a large number of infections. Biofilm-dwelling bacteria are particularly resistant to antibiotics, making it hard to eradicate biofilm ...

The eye–brain neuroimmune axis triggers immune activation and disrupts pathological neuronal connectivity to extend glioblastoma survival. ABSTRACT As an anatomical extension of the central nervous system (CNS), the eye harbors rich neural and immune interfaces with the brain. However, the integrated immunological and neurological nexus between the eye

This study reveals a novel GC therapy targeting cholesterol homeostasis. Inhibiting the SCAP sterol‐sensing domain causes lethal ER stress via cholesterol accumulation, paradoxically forcing continuous synthesis that triggers ferroptosis. The findings link sterol sensing, metabolic dysregulation, and ferroptosis, establishing an anti‐cancer paradigm ...

Tumor‐derived lactate establishes a metabolic lock that drives chemo‐immunotherapy resistance by suppressing PANoptosis. Mechanistically, KAT8 lactylates the mitochondrial translocator ANT2, which recruits PGAM5 to dephosphorylate CypD. This cascade restricts mitochondrial permeability transition pore opening, preventing pro‐inflammatory mtDNA leakage.

Genomic Tools to Investigate Bacterial Drug Efflux Pumps
New therapeutics are urgently needed to combat Gram-negative pathogens such as Escherichia coli, yet antibiotic development has been significantly hindered due to intrinsic antimicrobial resistance elements such as efflux pumps. E. coli harbours 35 known
