Association of treated neovascular AMD with disability and mood disorders: A longitudinal nationwide study

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To describe the associations of treated neovascular AMD with the risk of disability, falls, fractures and mood disorders in a large sample representative of the French population. Methods Analyses were based on 77 582 individuals belonging to the ‘Echantillon Généraliste des Bénéficiaires’, a 1/97 random sample of the French population,

Effects of a cloud of strings on the extended phase space of Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet AdS black holes

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper we study the thermodynamics of Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (EGB)-AdS black holes minimally coupled to a cloud of strings in an extended phase space where the cosmological constant is treated as pressure of the black holes and its conjugate ...

Green Human Resource Management and Employee Green Behaviour in Hotels: Mediating Roles of Job Satisfaction and Work Well‐Being

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 35, Issue 4, Page 4688-4704, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the impact of green human resource management (GHRM) practices on employee green behavioural intention (GBI) and in‐role green behaviour (EGB‐IR) in the hospitality sector. Drawing on conservation of resources (COR) theory, we examine the mediating roles of job satisfaction and employee well‐being as psychological ...

Electrocardiographic profile of guinea pig heart submitted to Ginkgo biloba extract and its terpenoids

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Plantas Medicinais, 2014
Electrocardiographic effects produced by Ginkgo biloba extract (EGb) and by ginkgolides A (GA) and B (GB), and bilobalide (BB) were investigated in guinea pig heart mounted in Langendorff apparatus (Tyrode, 34 ± 0.1 ºC, 95% O2, 5% CO2 ...

An Emergent Universe supported by chiral cosmological fields in Einstein--Gauss--Bonnet gravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We propose the application of the chiral cosmological model (CCM) for the Einstein--Gauss--Bonnet (EGB) theory of gravitation with the aim of finding new models of the Emergent Universe (EmU) scenario.

Persistent Evapotranspiration in a Shallow Boreal Shield Peatland Despite Summer Drought: Implications for Ecohydrological Resilience

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 5, May 2026.
We examine energy balance and evapotranspiration dynamics in a shallow peatland as an analogue for projected climate change impacts in deeper peatlands. Across nine growing seasons, we document similar total evapotranspiration between dry and wet years, leading to net moisture deficit in some dry years.

Effects of EGb 761® Ginkgo biloba extract on mitochondrial function and oxidative stress [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
As major sources of reactive oxygen species (ROS), mitochondrial structures are exposed to high concentrations of ROS and may therefore be particularly susceptible to oxidative damage.

Ustilago maydis Phosphatidic Acid and Phosphatidylserine‐Targeting Secreted Lipase Lip3 Is Involved in Pathogenesis

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
Ustilago maydis secreted lipase, Lip3 targets PA and PS and alkalinises the host apoplast, thus promoting virulence. Loss of Lip3 results in reduced apoplastic pH and decreased pathogenicity. ABSTRACT Lipases constitute important virulence factors. By targeting specific lipids involved in various cellular processes, lipases regulate growth, development,
