PRECIPITINS FOR EGG ALBUMIN IN STOOLS [PDF]

The preparation of the stools was the same in these cases as that reported in a previous article. 1 Anti-egg white rabbit serum of a titer of 40,000 was used. Titer equals highest dilution of egg white in salt solution in which the serum produced precipitate by contact method after one hour at room temperature.

Experiments are presented on the cross reactions of hen egg albumin immune sera with egg albumins of other species by means of exhaustion with heterologous proteins and by inhibition tests. From the results it can be concluded that the sera contain multiple, qualitatively distinct antibodies.
