Shell formation and bone strength in laying hens [PDF]
In Sweden almost 3.8% of all eggs are ruined due to cracked eggshells as shell quality declines with age during the laying period. This is a concern for food safety as well as an economical problem.

Goose`s eggshell strength at compressive loading
The paper deals with the study of the goose eggs behaviour under compressive loading between two plates using testing device TIRATEST. The influences of the loading orientation as well as the effect of compressive velocity are studied. 226 eggs from Landes geese were chosen for the experiment.

Aqueous Two‐Phase Bioinks for Discrete Packing and Compartmentalization of 3D Bioprinted Cells
Aqueous two‐phase systems (ATPS) enable the formation of biomimetic interfaces crucial for tissue engineering. However, clinical translation remains limited by the challenge of precisely controlling cellular compartmentalization. Here, we developed ATPS biomaterial inks for 3D bioprinting allowing tuneable droplet formation via NaCl modulation.

Environment type and storage period on eggshell quality of laying hens at different ages
: Eggshell quality is directly linked to the good acceptability of the product by consumers, whereas the industry is concerned with economic losses. Prolonged periods of laying, diseases, nutrition, bird age and genetics can influence egg quality.

Optimization of the mastication strength of hydroxyapatite as an eggshell-based tooth filler [PDF]
Indonesia is an abundant egg producing country. When the eggshell is not managed properly, the eggshell will become a medium for microbial growth and cause environmental pollution. Eggshell contain very high calcium carbonate which can be used as a precursor for hydroxyapatite formation.

Relationship of Eggshell Ultrastructure and Shell Strength to the Soundness of Shell Eggs
Factors affecting the soundness of shell eggs are of primary concern to egg processors due to substantial financial losses from cracked and leaker eggs. Ultrastructural analyses were used to examine the palisade layer width and mammillary knob layer thickness of sound, cracked, and leaker eggshells. Subjective observations were also made.

Comparative genomics of Gondwana‐diverged Pila and Pomacea reveals parallel evolution of aerial oviposition. Convergent chromosomal rearrangements reshape regulatory landscapes within topologically associating domains. Lineage‐specific gene family expansions and viral‐derived perivitelline proteins (PV1) underpin desiccation resistance.
