EGNOS Time and UTC Disseminated by EGNOS

The Precise Time and Time Interval Systems and Applications Meeting, 2017
In the frame of the EGNOS Service Performance Monitoring Support to GSA (SPMS), four time laboratories (OP, INRIM, CNES and ORB) are responsible for the monitoring of the time scales broadcast by EGNOS. These are in particular the EGNOS Network Time (ENT) and the difference ENT?UTC(OP) which is broadcast using a specific message type (MT#12).

EGNOS: project status overview

Air & Space Europe, 1999
Abstract The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay System (EGNOS) is being developed in Europe to provide GPS and GLONASS satellite-based augmentation services to aviation, maritime and land users. EGNOS is a major element of the European Satellite Navigation Programme which is jointly being implemented by the European Union, the European Space ...

Availability prediction method for EGNOS

GPS Solutions, 2016
Following the recent development of wide-area differential technology, satellite-based augmentation systems (SBASs) have been applied in many fields. However, the capability of monitoring stations used for generating error correction might degenerate with the aging of ground equipment over time, and the poor geometry between ranging and integrity ...

EGNOS Performances assessment in maritime navigation

2021 International Workshop on Metrology for the Sea; Learning to Measure Sea Health Parameters (MetroSea), 2021
The maritime community is increasingly interested to guarantee the safety and security of shipping. In this context, the knowledge of accurate and reliable information about a ship’s position is a fundamental requirement for navigation and for avoiding accidents. This is valid for both maritime navigation and inland navigation.

Performances of EGNOS network time: An update

2013 Joint European Frequency and Time Forum & International Frequency Control Symposium (EFTF/IFC), 2013
EGNOS is the European Satellite Based GPS Augmentation System. It generates its own time scale (ENT) that is steered to GPS time. The time offset between ENT and UTC (actually UTC(OP)) is contained in EGNOS Message Type 12. The aim of this paper is to validate the content of this message and to present the performances of ENT with respect to UTC and ...

Extension of EGNOS ionospheric correction

2011 XXXth URSI General Assembly and Scientific Symposium, 2011
EGNOS corrections are distributed over most European countries. Unfortunately, the current ground infrastructure saves the correction accuracy only for limited area of Europe. On the edge of that area, the usefulness of the EGNOS corrections is questionable. That problem occurs in Poland.

Vehicular remote tolling services using EGNOS

IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Magazine, 2004
Future Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) will significantly improve the performance of current navigation systems, providing new and enhanced capabilities. This will enable the implementation of innovative and advanced services and applications closer to the user's needs. In this framework, the road sector is one of the major potential markets
