EHV-1 and EHV-4 infection in vaccinated mares and their foals

Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 2006
A silent cycle of equine herpesvirus 1 infection was described following epidemiological studies of unvaccinated mares and foals on a Hunter Valley stud farm. Following the introduction of routine vaccination with an inactivated whole virus equine herpesvirus 1 (EHV-1) and equine herpesvirus 4 (EHV-4) vaccine in 1997, a subsequent study identified ...

Equine herpesvirus 1 (EHV-1) glycoprotein D DNA inoculation in horses with pre-existing EHV-1/EHV-4 antibody

Veterinary Microbiology, 2000
We have shown previously that equine herpesvirus 1 (EHV-1) glycoprotein D (gD) DNA elicited protective immune responses against EHV-1 challenge in murine respiratory and abortion models of EHV-1 disease. In this study, 20 horses, all with pre-existing antibody to EHV-4 and two with pre-existing antibody to EHV-1, were inoculated intramuscularly with ...

EHV-DC Simulator

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1966
The salient features of the design and construction of an analog computer for the study of HV-dc transmission systems are described. The special modeling techniques which permitted a relatively low power base simulator which could be interconnected with the ac Transient Network Analyzer are outlined.

Digital EHV Current Transducer

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1981
A digital electronic current transducer (ECT) has been developed under a project sponsored by The Electric Power Research Institute. The ECT features digital output, an optical fiber data transmission system, and a unique power supply located at high potential.

Detection of EHV‐1 and EHV‐4 in placental sections of naturally occurring EHV‐1‐ and EHV‐4‐related abortions in the UK: use of the placenta in diagnosis

Equine Veterinary Journal, 2003
Summary Reasons for performing study : EHV‐1 and EHV‐4 abortion diagnosis is based upon detailed examination of the aborted fetus. However, in some cases, only the placenta is available for examination.

Practical EHV reactor protection

2013 66th Annual Conference for Protective Relay Engineers, 2013
Shunt reactors are applied to long, high-voltage transmission lines to offset the impact of line charging capacitance to prevent high voltage during lightly loaded conditions. Shunt reactors are becoming more prevalent associated with the construction of long transmission lines to connect remote wind energy sources to load centers.

Modulation of the serological response of specific pathogen-free (EHV-free) foals to EHV-1 by previous infection with EHV-4 or a TK-deletion mutant of EHV-1

Archives of Virology, 1993
EHV-1 was inoculated into specific pathogen-free (SPF) foals in order to study uncomplicated primary responses. Infection resulted in a strong serological response recognizing EHV-1-specific antigens; this contrasts with a previous publication where a weak response was recorded in SPF animals.

EHV Elephant-Type Bushing

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1963
Recent co-operative development by representative electric machine and cable manufacturers in Japan has resulted in a direct-connected combination of high-voltage cable, pothead, and transformer, designated as the EHV (extra-high-voltage) elephant-type bushing.

Testing EHV secondary arcs

2001 IEEE Porto Power Tech Proceedings (Cat. No.01EX502), 2002
The protection of the environment requires compact EHV tower constructions. This trend results in decreasing the clearances and phase-to-phase distances. It is expected, that both the number of faults and the amplitude of the secondary arc current will grow in the future.

Untransposed EHV Line Computations

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1964
The unbalance caused by connecting a generating station to a large load center by an untransposed series-compensated 500,000-volt bundled-conductor transmission line is analyzed digitally. Calculations are made by representing each conductor individually.
