Distributed material density and anisotropy for optimized eigenfrequency of 2D continua [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A practical approach to optimize a continuum/structural eigenfrequency is presented, including design of the distribution of material anisotropy. This is often termed free material optimization (FMO).

Comprehensive analysis of the mechanical system system “fixture – workpiece” [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал інженерних наук, 2017
Present work is devoted to locating and clamping of prismatic parts in fixtures during the machining on drilling-milling-boring machines. The special feature of locating schemes of parts of the present type is that one of the flat surfaces is used as a ...

Lattice Resonances in Periodic Arrays of Time‐Modulated Scatterers

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work explores how periodic time modulation alters the collective optical behavior of periodic arrays of scatterers, shedding light on the critical role of collective effects in time‐varying photonic systems and unveiling new opportunities for amplification, active control, and nonreciprocal functionalities.

Controlling Collective Quasiparticle Dynamics Beyond Decoherence in Topological Interfaces

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Gold nanoparticles placed above a deformed honeycomb plasmonic crystal couple to a chiral topological interface mode. The pseudospin‐split bands ψ+/ ψ− encode spin‐momentum locking, so emitters radiate directionally along the domain wall and share a common phase.

Computing eigenfrequency sensitivities near exceptional points

open access: yes
Exceptional points are spectral degeneracies of non-Hermitian systems where both eigenfrequencies and eigenmodes coalesce. The eigenfrequency sensitivities near an exceptional point are significantly enhanced, whereby they diverge directly at the ...

CORRELATIONS BETWEEN SOME MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND THE MASS PER UNIT LENGTH FOR SOME COMPOSITE BARS REINFORCED WITH STEEL FABRIC [PDF]

open access: yesFiabilitate şi Durabilitate, 2014
In this paper some new composite sandwich bars are presented. These bars have the core made of polypropylene honeycomb with upper and lower layers reinforced with steel wire mesh.

Revealing the Resonant Physics of Open Photonic Time Crystals

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Photonic time crystals (PTCs) are media whose permittivity is modulated periodically in time, enabling momentum bandgaps and parametric amplification of light. Their realization at the nanoscale can revolutionize the study of light‐matter interactions.

Eigenfrequency computation by the finite sine transform method on a rectangular plate carrying arbitrary number of concentrated masses and springs

open access: yes, 2007
A generalized finite sine transform method (FSTM) is presented in this paper and applied to the eigenfrequency computation of a rectangular plate with arbitrarily distributed concentrated masses and translational springs. Compared with the analytical-and-

Theory of Supercritical Coupling and Generalized Bound States in the Continuum

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
We develop a general theory of supercritical coupling and generalized bound states in the continuum (gBICs), revealing how interference between radiative and absorptive channels enables quality factors beyond conventional material‐loss limits. The framework unifies non‐Hermitian mode coupling, causality‐driven reactive interactions, and interference ...

Reconfigurable Giant Nonreciprocity at Near‐Normal Incidence via Phase‐Change Magneto‐Optical Metagratings

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A phase‐change magneto‐optical metagrating combines GST switching with InAs guided‐mode resonances to achieve strong nonreciprocal absorption contrast near normal incidence. A static magnetic bias creates direction‐dependent resonant splitting, while GST crystallization quenches and latches the response.
