Integrated approach to observer eigenstructure assignment

IEE Proceedings - Control Theory and Applications, 2000
An integrated approach to eigenstructure assignment is used to provide a simple unconstrained algorithm for full-state-observer left-eigenstructure assignment. The integrated approach enables the left-eigenstructure, assignable with multiple eigenvalues, to be readily identified. The approach is developed to provide a simple unconstrained algorithm for

Robust eigenstructure assignment

2011
The design of feedback systems based on a 'mathematical model' of the plant should be insensitive to uncertainty associated with the parameters of the model. This is required since the system model parameters, in most cases, are only a best estimate of the real plant.

Optimisation approach to robust eigenstructure assignment

IEE Proceedings - Control Theory and Applications, 1999
A systematic optimisation approach to robust eigenstructure assignment for control systems with output feedback is presented. The proposed scheme assigns the maximum allowable number of closed-loop eigenvalues to desired locations, and determines the corresponding closed-loop eigenvectors as close to desired ones as possible.

Eigenstructure assignment technique for manipulator control

Conference Proceedings., IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, 2003
A control scheme based on a procedure suggested by M. Vukobratovic and N. Kircarski (1983) is used to design the control algorithm for a two-link robot arm. Simulation results show that eigenstructure assignment with feedforward torques can produce acceptable performance for such an arm.

Eigenstructure assignment using output feedback

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1994
An eigenspace, achievable by gain output feedback, is proposed by Andry et al. (1983). One example contradicting the above conclusion is given by Kang and Lee (1992). The contradiction is due to the limitation of the result presented by Andry. This note derives the complete specification of the eigenspace which can be achieved by gain output feedback. >

An addendum to output feedback eigenstructure assignment: retro-assignment

International Journal of Control, 2004
This addendum paper presents additional material on an output feedback eigenstructure assignment approach derived in Clarke et al. (2003). There, a two-stage process is followed in which a subset of the desired eigenvectors is assigned in the first stage, followed by a dual set in the second stage.

Eigenstructure assignment with control gains optimization

Optimal Control Applications and Methods, 1990
AbstractEigenstructure assignment using output feedback is reformulated using an auxiliary principle of minimization of control effort. In the general eigenstructure assignment procedure, the feedback gain matrix is uniquely determined for a set of explicitly specified desired eigenvalues and eigenvectors. However, for the controller design proposed in

Eigenstructure assignment in multivariable linear systems

International Journal of Control, 1989
Abstract A new design method of regulators using state feedback is developed. This method not only assigns eigenvalues to the closed-loop system, but also assigns parts of the closed-loop eigenvector structure. Illustration of the method, in the case of a two link manipulator, is included. A new robustness measure is introduced.

Eigenstructure assignment in robot tracking applications

International Journal of Systems Science, 1993
Abstract Design procedures based on exact eigenstructure assignment are not suitable because of very high computational requirements. A computation-effective control design procedure for eigenstructure assignment using aggregation is presented. Dominant eigenvalues are placed at specified locations in the complex plane and the non-dominant eigenvalues ...

An explicit solution to eigenstructure assignment

1997 European Control Conference (ECC), 1997
A matrix equation which appears more suitable than a Sylvester equation in eigenstructure assignment is presented. This equation has easily checkable solvability condition and explicit solution(s). Eigenstructure assignment by state feedback can be solved by using a single matrix equation of this sort, while an additional equation dual to the previous ...
