Robust decentralized eigenstructure assignment

Proceedings of 1994 33rd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002
We derive direct non-iterative expressions for the eigenstructure assignment gain for a decentralized plant. This expression is a natural extension of the gain computation for a standard linear plant. We also derive new sufficient conditions for the robust stability of the decentralized system when it is subject to time-varying structured state space ...

Reconfigurable control via eigenstructure assignment

Proceedings of the 37th SICE Annual Conference. International Session Papers, 2002
We propose a reconfigurable control method using an eigenstructure assignment scheme. The fault isolation filter proposed previously by the authors should be employed in order to use the method. The filter shows a good fault isolation result with exact eigenstructure assignment capability.

Assignment of reduced sensitivity eigenstructure

IEE Proceedings - Control Theory and Applications, 2000
The presented technique addresses the problem of maintaining the powerful design simplicity and visibility of eigenstructure assignment, while reducing closed-loop eigenstructure sensitivity to dominant parameter variations. The method results from consideration of the allowable eigenvector subspace as a complete description of the eigenstructure ...

Eigenstructure Assignment for Linear Systems

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1983
The use of feedback (full state, output, and constrained output) is considered as a means of shaping the transient response of linear time invariant systems. The underlying importance of the eigenstructure (eigenvalues/eigenvectors) is highlighted. Also, the important results and techniques are presented along with a brief literature review.

Eigenstructure assignment in descriptor systems

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1986
Necessary and sufficient conditions for the system Eẋ \(=\) Ax \(+\) Bu are established for state feedback pole assignment with arbitrary placement of the poles \(\lambda_ 1,...,\lambda_ q\) in the case q \(=\) rank E. A robust procedure for computation of the required feedback matrix is given.

Eigenstructure Assignment: A Survey

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part I: Journal of Systems and Control Engineering, 1995
This paper surveys the field of eigenstructure assignment literature from the early 1960s to the present. The eigenstructure assignment problem is first defined as the assignment of eigenvectors within an eigenspace associated with each eigenvalue. Four broad approaches to eigenstructure assignment are identified: the protection method, the parametric

Eigenstructure assignment using dynamical compensator

International Journal of Control, 1989
Abstract The problem of eigenstructure assignment via the dynamical compensator of linear systems is dealt with. The sufficient and necessary conditions of permissible radical systems is advanced and compensators of different order are discussed. The minimal order bounds of compensators and a minimal algorithm are given. Several examples are worked out

Decentralized control via eigenstructure assignment

SMC 2000 Conference Proceedings. 2000 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. 'Cybernetics Evolving to Systems, Humans, Organizations, and their Complex Interactions' (Cat. No.00CH37166), 2002
The problem of achieving stability and block-diagonal dominance for linear large-scale systems by decentralized feedback is considered. Sufficient conditions for stability and block-diagonal dominance of the closed-loop system are introduced. By appropriately assigning the eigenstructure of each isolated subsystem via output feedback or state feedback,

Eigenstructure Assignment by State Feedback

1984 American Control Conference, 1984
The problem of simulataneous assignment of a set of closed loop eigenvalues and eigenvectors using state feedback is discussed. For mutivariable systems, the non-uniqueness of the state feedback gain for assigning a set of eigenvalues of a multivariable system provides the designer freedom in the selection of closed loop eigenvectors.
