Accurate one dimensional beam modeling method for a rotor shaft with stepped cross-sections in the finite element method

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2014
The bending stiffness at the stepped cross-section of a rotor decreases in accordance with the elasticity in the face of the cross-section. This study proposes a method to deal with this decrease in bending stiffness in one dimensional (1D) beam modeling.

Transient Stability Analysis of a Transmission Network Using Eigenvalue Principles with Automated VAR Compensation: A Case Study of the Nigerian Eastern Grid

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Power systems may encounter disturbances during operation as a result of switching of various components, etc. Such perturbations include transformer tap-changing action, load variations, and line outages due to various types of faults of which an earth ...

Flight Stability of Rigid Wing Airborne Wind Energy Systems

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
The flight mechanics of rigid wing Airborne Wind Energy Systems (AWESs) is fundamentally different from the one of conventional aircrafts. The presence of the tether largely impacts the system dynamics, making the flying craft to experience forces which ...

Modeling method of a rotor with interference fitting for accuracy improvement of lateral vibration analysis model for rotor-dynamics

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
This study will address the improvement of the analytical accuracy of a lateral vibration analysis model for rotor-dynamics. In case of predicting the lateral vibration of a rotor with disc elements fixed on the shaft by the interference fit, the ...

Influence of Active Power Output and Control Parameters of Full-Converter Wind Farms on Sub-Synchronous Oscillation Characteristics in Weak Grids

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Active power outputs of a wind farm connected to a weak power grid greatly affect the stability of grid-connected voltage source converter (VSC) systems.

Stability limit of double-fed induction generator system connected to weak grid

open access: yes电力工程技术, 2022
With large-scale wind turbines connected to the power system, the power grid strength becomes weak, leading to unstability problem of wind turbines in DC voltage control timescale.

Transitions between nonsymmetric and symmetric steady states near a triple eigenvalue [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
We examine the existence of nonuniform steady-state solutions of a certain class of reaction-diffusion equations. Our analysis concentrates on the case where the first bifurcation is near a triple eigenvalue.

Subsynchronous oscillation and its mitigation of VSC-MTDC with doubly-fed induction generator-based wind farm integration [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Electrical Engineering, 2021
Wind power integration through the voltage source converter-based high-voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) system will be a potential solution for delivering large-scale wind power to the “Three-North Regions” of China. However, the interaction between the

Complex Eigenvalue Analysis for Structures with Viscoelastic Behavior [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This document deals with a method for eigenvalue extraction for the analysis of structures with viscoelastic materials. A generalized Maxwell model is used to model linear viscoelasticity.

Eigenvalue and Eigenvector Statistics in Time Series Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The study of correlated time-series is ubiquitous in statistical analysis, and the matrix decomposition of the cross-correlations between time series is a universal tool to extract the principal patterns of behavior in a wide range of complex systems ...
