Recent development of CDCC

open access: yes, 2012
This paper shows a brief review on CDCC and the microscopic reaction theory as a fundamental theory of CDCC. The Kerman-McManus-Thaler theory for nucleon-nucleus scattering is extended to nucleus-nucleus scattering.

Adaptation of Eikonal Equation over Weighted Graph

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, an adaptation of the eikonal equation is proposed by considering the latter on weighted graphs of arbitrary structure. This novel approach is based on a family of discrete morphological local and nonlocal gradients expressed by partial difference equations (PdEs).

Cost-Effective Path Planning for Submarine Cable Network Extension

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
We describe a cost-effective approach to path planning for submarine cables connecting a given site to an existing cable network on the Earth's surface. The objective is to minimize the overall life-cycle cost of submarine cables by considering multiple ...

Phase-Space Eikonal Method for Treating Wave Equations [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1985
Summary: We present a new method for treating classical (or quantal) wave equations in the short-wavelength (semiclassical) regime, based on a description of the wave in the ray phase space. The coherent-state representation is defined, and the equation which it obeys is given and solved under assumptions similar to those of conventional eikonal theory.

Eikonal equation for modelling urban boundary evolution using Huygens principle and machine learning

open access: yesDiscover Cities
The study presents the model of dynamic urban boundary evolution using the Eikonal equation arising in the wave Partial Differential Equation (PDE) using Huygens principle.

A note on Berwald eikonal equation

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2016
In this study, firstly, we generalize Berwald map by introducing the concept of a Riemannian map. After that we find Berwald eikonal equation through using the Berwald map. The eikonal equation of geometrical optic that examining light reflects, refracts at smooth, plane interfaces is obtained for Berwald condition.

Residual Physics-Informed Neural Networks for Seismic Tomography with Multi-Source Prior Constraints

open access: yesMathematics
Seismic traveltime tomography is essential for constructing subsurface velocity models that underpin high-resolution imaging and inversion. Traditional ray- and eikonal-based methods are sensitive to the starting model and lack a unified, physically ...

LatentPINNs: Generative physics-informed neural networks via a latent representation learning

open access: yesArtificial Intelligence in Geosciences
Physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) are promising to replace conventional mesh-based partial differential equation (PDE) solvers by offering more accurate and flexible PDE solutions. However, PINNs are hampered by the relatively slow convergence and

Scalar conservation law with discontinuity arising in pedestrian modeling*

open access: yesESAIM: Proceedings and Surveys, 2014
We consider a generalized version of the Hughes’ macroscopic model of pedestrian motion. It consists of a conservation law on the pedestrian mass with an eikonal equation giving the direction of the flux depending of the density.
