An acoustic eikonal equation for attenuating VTI media
We present an acoustic eikonal equation governing the complex-valued travel time of P-waves in attenuating, transversely isotropic media with a vertical symmetry axis (VTI).

LatentPINNs: Generative physics-informed neural networks via a latent representation learning
Physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) are promising to replace conventional mesh-based partial differential equation (PDE) solvers by offering more accurate and flexible PDE solutions. However, PINNs are hampered by the relatively slow convergence and

Scalar conservation law with discontinuity arising in pedestrian modeling*
We consider a generalized version of the Hughes’ macroscopic model of pedestrian motion. It consists of a conservation law on the pedestrian mass with an eikonal equation giving the direction of the flux depending of the density.

Global solutions to the eikonal equation
We study structural stability of smoothness of the maximal solution to the geometric eikonal equation on (Rd, G), d \geq 2. This is within the framework of order zero metrics G. For a subclass we show existence, stability as well as precise asymptotics for derivatives of the solution.

Software implementation of the Eikonal equation
The Maxwell equations have a fairly simple form. However, finding solutions to Maxwell's equations is an extremely difficult task. Therefore, various simplifying approaches are often used in optics.

Maximal generalized solution of eikonal equation
We study the Dirichlet problem for the eikonal equation: \begin{displaymath} \begin{cases} \ha |\n u(x)|^2 - a(x) = 0 & \ \textrm{in} \ \O\cr u(x)=\varphi(x) & \ \textrm{on} \ \partial \O, \end{cases} \end{displaymath} without continuity ...

Optimal besov differentiability for entropy solutions of the eikonal equation [PDF]
In this paper we study the Eikonal equation in a bounded planar domain. We prove the equivalence among optimal Besov regularity, the niteness of every entropy production and the validity of a kinetic ...

The eikonal equation and meandering of spiral waves: a geometrical approach
The eikonal equation supports the rotating spiral wave with the core rotating periodically. It is shown that this pivoting constraint can be removed by prescribing appropriate motion of the core compatible with the global motion of the spiral.
