Numerical analysis of eikonal equation [PDF]
The Maxwell equations have a fairly simple form. However, finding solutions of Maxwell's equations is an extremely difficult task. Therefore, various simplifying approaches are often used in optics. One such simplifying approach is to use the approximation of geometric optics.

Eikonal Equation Reproduces Natural Landscapes With Threshold Hillslopes [PDF]
Many natural landscapes maintain steep planar hillslopes bounded at a typical angle, beyond which shallow landslides or slope failures remove the excess sediment volume by mass wasting.

Neural Eikonal Solver: improving accuracy of physics-informed neural networks for solving eikonal equation in case of caustics [PDF]
The concept of physics-informed neural networks has become a useful tool for solving differential equations due to its flexibility. There are a few approaches using this concept to solve the eikonal equation which describes the first-arrival traveltimes ...

Solving the eikonal equation for compressional and shear waves in anisotropic media using peridynamic differential operator [PDF]
Traveltimes of compressional (P) and shear (S) waves have proven essential in many earthquake and exploration seismology applications. An accurate and efficient traveltime computation for P and S waves is crucial for the success of these applications ...

On Complex Solutions of the Eikonal Equation
In this paper a new approach of complex rays in an inhomogeneous medium is presented. Complex rays are complex solutions of the eikonal equation, the main equation of the geometrical optics. It is shown that solving the eikonal equation by using the characteristic method naturally leads to the pseudoriemann and Minkowski geometries.

Optimal Besov differentiability for entropy solutions of the Eikonal equation [PDF]
International audienceIn this paper we study the Eikonal equation in a bounded planar domain. We prove the equivalence among optimal Besov regularity, the finiteness of every entropy production and the validity of a kinetic ...

A Regularizing Property of the 2D-Eikonal Equation [PDF]
We prove that any $2$-dimensional solution $ψ\in W_{loc}^{1+\frac 1 3, 3}$ of the eikonal equation has locally Lipschitz gradient $\nabla ψ$ except at a locally finite number of vortices.

A note on Berwald eikonal equation
In this study, firstly, we generalize Berwald map by introducing the concept of a Riemannian map. After that we find Berwald eikonal equation through using the Berwald map. The eikonal equation of geometrical optic that examining light reflects, refracts at smooth, plane interfaces is obtained for Berwald condition.
