Buckling and postbuckling analysis of elasto-plastic fiber metal laminates
Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica, 2014The elasto-plastic buckling and postbuckling of fiber metal laminates (FML) are studied in this research. Considering the geometric nonlinearity of the structure and the elasto-plastic deformation of the metal layers, the incremental Von Karman geometric relation of the FML with initial deflection is established. Moreover, an incremental elasto-plastic

Elasto-plastic buckling and postbuckling of arches subjected to a central load
Computers and Structures, 2003Abstract This paper presented a rational finite curved beam-element model for 3D nonlinear elasto-plastic analysis of arches. The finite element model incorporates the effects of large twist rotations of the cross-section and has consistent sampling scheme of sampling points over the cross-section and so it can perform the elastic and elasto-plastic ...

ELASTO-PLASTIC BUCKLING OF PRESTRESSED ARCHES
International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2002Intentional buckling as a fabrication technique for arch frameworks results in prestrains at every section of the arch, which in turn affect its strength and stability. A nonlinear corotational straight beam element with elastic, linear strain hardening material has been developed to study the elasto-plastic buckling of prestressed arches.

Elasto-plastic buckling of curved webs
Computers & Structures, 1978Abstract This paper presents an investigation on elastic buckling strength of curved girder webs subjected to uniform shears or bending stresses at the edges. An elastic 20 degrees of freedom finite element model was used to formulate the eigenvalue problem and a Gauss-Seidel iterative procedure was employed to yield the lowest critical edge loads.

A Theory of Elasto-Plastic Buckling
Textile Research Journal, 1966An elastic element (modulus E) and' a sliding element (yield stress σ p ) are coupled in series to get a rheological model of an elasto-plastic structure and work-hardening is accounted for by coupling another elastic element (modulus E s ) parallel to ...

Dynamic elasto-plastic buckling of initially curved bars
International Journal of Plasticity, 1987The longitudinal impact of a slightly curved bar by a heavy rigid hammer with a low velocity is analyzed numerically. The dynamic elasto-plastic buckling behavior is discussed for the bar subjected to the plastic strain of the same order as the elastic.

Elasto-Plastic Buckling Stability Under Hydrostatic Pressure
Offshore Technology Conference, 1978ABSTRACT A spherical submarine hull element is analyzed by means of a nonlinear finite-difference program. The imperfection sensitivity of this stiffened shell is greatly dampened by the structural discontinuities introduced through the stiffened portholes.

On Elasto-plastic Buckling Analysis of Cylindrical Shells
1995The paper addresses a computational model for elasto-plastic large deformation analysis of thin shells. The large displacement, large rotation but small strain shell theory is developed from the three dimensional continuum theory via standard assumptions on the displacement field (see for example [1] for details). A model for thin shells is obtained by
