Elasto-plastic buckling of stiffener plates in beam-to-column flange connections
Computers & Structures, 1984Abstract The problem of plastic buckling of steel plates is reviewed in relation to the load carrying capacity of stiffener plates in beam-to-column flange connections. Due to the non-uniformity of the stress distribution in these plates, the finite element method is used to compute the stresses in the elastic and plastic ranges.

Elastic and elasto-plastic beam buckling using finite element methods [PDF]
Using a finite element technique, a computer program is developed which can find the elastic and the elasto-plastic lateraltorsional buckling loads for simply supported beams. The program is such that the beam, uniform in cross-section, may be loaded in any general manner and restrained at any number of points by elastic or rigid restraints.
