Dynamical spin-electric coupling in a quantum dot
Due to the spin-orbital coupling in a semiconductor quantum dot, a freely precessing electron spin produces a time-dependent charge density. This creates a sizeable electric field outside the dot, leading to promising applications in spintronics.

Electrically Tunable Quantum Spin Hall State in Topological Crystalline Insulator Thin films [PDF]
Based on a combination of $k \cdot p$ theory, band topology analysis and electronic structure calculations, we predict the (111) thin films of the SnTe class of three-dimensional (3D) topological crystalline insulators realize the quantum spin Hall phase

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Direct Observation of Controlled Coupling in an Individual Quantum Dot Molecule [PDF]
We report the direct observation of quantum coupling in individual quantum dot molecules and its manipulation using static electric fields. A pronounced anti-crossing of different excitonic transitions is observed as the electric field is tuned ...

Structural models for coupled electricity markets [PDF]
One of the major changes in european electricity markets is - besides the increasing share of renewable infeed - the fact that previously independent market areas have been connected. Day-Ahead auctions are no longer done separately and available interconnector capacity are not always auctioned independently from electricity.

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.
