Thin film lithium niobate electric field sensors
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2022We present our results for using thin film lithium niobate devices for electric field sensing applications. Micro-ring modulator and Mach–Zehnder modulator-based electric field sensors are demonstrated. Micro-ring resonator sensors can be used for low frequency (up to several GHz) electric field sensing applications and achieve a high sensitivity of 80

Silica microwire-based interferometric electric field sensor
Optics Letters, 2015Silica microwire, as an optical waveguide whose diameter is close to or smaller than the wavelength of the guided light, is of great interest because it exhibits a number of excellent properties such as tight confinement, large evanescent fields, and great configurability.

Optical electric-field sensors
Optical Engineering, 2006Based on the electro-optic (EO) polymer Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI) technology, IPITEK develops optical E-field sensor devices. As a receive antenna, the present device exhibits wide and flat bandwidth, up to 10 GHz. Testing the E-field sensor response was performed using a transverse electromagnetic (TEM) cell at frequencies from 0.2 to 1 GHz,

Rotating Electrode in Electric-Field Sensor
Journal of Communications Technology and Electronics, 2021It is shown that the application of rotating electrodes in an electrode sensor for measurement of the extremely-low-frequency electric field in seawater makes it possible to increase the sensitivity by more than an order of magnitude due to a decrease in the specific electrode noise of motion.

Electrical measurement of free space electric field sensors
2016 IEEE Metrology for Aerospace (MetroAeroSpace), 2016Free space electric field sensor is the important load of satellite to obtain the information of electric field. Analysis of electric field offers a lot of information to the study area of earthquake monitoring, thunderstorm monitoring and radio wave propagation, improving the ability of major natural disasters monitoring.

Nonperturbing electric field sensor for near field measurement
1998 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements Digest (Cat. No.98CH36254), 2002We present a novel electric field measurement system utilising optical technology, which has been developed, tested and calibrated for near field measurement in the frequency region up to 1.8 GHz. The measuring probe is passive, all-dielectric and EMI immune.

Fiber-optic electric field sensor
Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1986A novel type of fiber-optic electric field sensor has been demonstrated. This device was fabricated by fusing piezoelectrically sensitized fibers into a fiber-optic Mach-Zehnder interferometer testbed. Quadrature stabilization for the interferometer test-bed was provided by an active homodyne scheme.
