Production of MgO/TiC Composites From MgO‐C Recyclates Using Spark Plasma Sintering
Using the spark plasma sintering technique, MgO/TiC composites are manufactured from recycled MgO‐C refractories stemming from the steel production that were mixed with titanium powder. This article shows, how the size of the Ti grains and their distribution in the powder mixture affect the local carbon concentration in TiC.

Theory and practice of transcranial extracellular impedance control (tEIC)
As the working hypothesis in the present study, neural coupling (NC) is the sum of synaptic coupling (SC) and volume current coupling (VcC), and VcC influences cognitive and behavioral functions.

Resonant spike propagation in coupled neurons with subthreshold activity
Màster en Biofísica, curs 2006-2007Chemical coupling between neurons is only active when the presynaptic neuron is firing, and thus it does not allow for the propagation of subthreshold activity.

First-principles calculations and experimental studies of: XYZ 2 thermoelectric compounds: Detailed analysis of van der Waals interactions [PDF]
First-principles calculations can accelerate the search for novel high-performance thermoelectric materials. However, the prediction of the thermoelectric properties is strongly dependent on the approximations used for the calculations.

Coupled Electricity and Magnetism in Solids
The interplay of electricity and magnetism, one of the cornerstones of modern physics, takes a special form in solids in such phenomena as magnetoelectricity and the possibility of multiferroic behaviour. In this paper I give a short survey of the main notions of this field, paying special attention to microscopic aspects.
