Application of Electrical Resistivity Tomography for Detecting Root Biomass in Coffee Trees

open access: yesInternational Journal of Geophysics, 2013
Roots play an important role in plants and are responsible for several functions; among them are anchorage and nutrient and water absorption. Several methodologies are being tested and used to study plant root systems in order to avoid destructive root ...

Geophysical characterization of derelict coalmine workings and mineshaft detection: a case study from Shrewsbury, United Kingdom [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A study site of derelict coalmine workings near Shrewsbury, United Kingdom was the focus for multi‐phase, near‐surface geophysical investigations. Investigation objectives were: 1) site characterization for remaining relict infrastructure foundations, 2)

Decreased Serum 5‐HT: Clinical Correlates and Regulatory Role in NMJ of MG

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Although 5‐Hydroxytryptamine (5‐HT) indirectly stimulates muscle contraction and participates in regulating Acetylcholine receptor (AChR) cluster homeostasis in cellular, animal, and clinical studies, evidence regarding its potential to modulate muscle contraction in myasthenia gravis (MG) remains limited.

Appraisal of the Spatial Resolution of 2D Electrical Resistivity Tomography for Geotechnical Investigation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
In the past decade, the 2D electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) has been extensively used in the investigation and monitoring of geotechnical engineering and environment engineering, but there are many uncertainties hidden behind its vivid color earth-

Electrical Resistivity Tomography at the DOE Hanford Site [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems 1996, 1996
Recent work at the DOE Hanford site has established the potential of applying Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) for early leak detection under hazardous waste storage facilities. Several studies have been concluded to test the capabilities and limitations of ERT for two different applications.

The Case of a 28‐Year‐Old Woman With Medically Refractory Focal Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present the case of a 28‐year‐old right‐handed woman with medically refractory focal epilepsy. Her seizure semiology and electroencephalography (EEG) indicated a seizure onset zone in the right central‐parietal area. However, both MRI and PET scans were unremarkable, showing no focal lesions or areas of altered metabolism.

SHALLOW SUBSURFACE STRUCTURES AND QUATERNARY DEFORMATIONS ON THE EASTERNMOST MATANO FAULT, INDONESIA, REVEALED BY ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY TOMOGRAPHY

open access: yesRudarsko-geološko-naftni Zbornik
In active fault studies, electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) with wide electrode spacing (10 m) and fewer than 60 electrodes is typically utilized. However, this configuration limits the ability of ERT to resolve detailed geological information, such

The detection and tracking of mine-water pollution from abandoned mines using electrical tomography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Increasing emphasis is being placed on the environmental and societal impact of mining, particularly in the EU, where the environmental impacts of abandoned mine sites (spoil heaps and tailings) are now subject to the legally binding Water Framework and ...
