3D‐Printed Corneal Substitutes: Materials, Fabrication, and Preclinical Progress
Successful clinical translation of 3D‐printed corneal substitutes relies on the interplay between the bioink properties, cellular component, and the fabrication process. These factors influence the critical properties of the construct, including optical transparency, mechanical stability, suture retention, that ultimately govern long‐term stromal ...

Multifunctional Adhesive Hydrogel for Rapid Cardiac Hemostasis and Antibacterial Protection
A multifunctional polyacrylamide/gelatin/tannic acid hydrogel (PGT) is presented for rapid cardiac hemostasis under wet, dynamic conditions. Surface tannic acid coating enables instantaneous wet adhesion, accelerates coagulation, and confers antibacterial activity within a single platform.

High‐aspect‐ratio low‐melting‐point alloy inclusions are embedded within multilayer silicone laminates to create thermally programmable stiffness. Sequential activation of alloy‐rich layers produces four distinct mechanical states and reconfigures tendon‐driven actuator trajectories under the same load.

Microfabrication using nano‐ to micron‐sized blocks has transformative potential for next‐gen electronics, optoelectronics, and materials. Traditional methods are limited by scalability and precision. STIC, a single‐laser system for precise colloid manipulation and immobilization using femtosecond lasers, is introduced that enables efficient 3D ...

Influence of stunning methods on the welfare of glycerine-fed lambs
The effects of electrical and non-penetrating bolt pistol stunning methods were evaluated. Forty uncastrated, mixed-breed (½ Santa Inês x ½ Dorper) males were used. The welfare of lambs was not affected (P> 0.05) by the inclusion of glycerin in the diet.

Automated poultry processing lines still rely on humans to lift slippery, easily bruised carcasses onto a shackle conveyor. Deformability, anatomical variance, and hygiene rules make conventional suction and scripted motions unreliable. We present ChicGrasp, an end‐to‐end hardware‐software co‐designed imitation learning framework, to offer a ...

Effects of electrical and percussive stunning on neural, ventilatory and cardiac responses of rainbow trout [PDF]
From an ethical standpoint, it is imperative that rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) are humanely slaughtered, which entails that they are rendered unconscious immediately by a stunning method and remain so until death.
