Synthesis and electrocatalytic activities of Co3O4 nanocubes
Journal of Nanoparticle Research, 2010In this article, a hydrothermal method was developed to synthesize Co3O4 nanocubes using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) as oxidant, Co(NO3)2·6H2O as a cobalt source. The products are characterized in detail by multiform techniques including X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission ...

Electrocatalytic activation of small molecules
2017Electrochemsitry and electrocatalysis are useful techniques for energy conversion and energy storage applications. In this project, the electrocatalytic activation of small molecules, H₂O, methanol and ethanol, and CO₂, has been studied as potential methods for energy storage and conversion. A hexaniobate Lindqvist ion assisted Co and Ni nanostructure

Electrocatalytic activity of self-doped polyaniline
Electrochimica Acta, 2012Self-doped conducting polyaniline-modified indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes were prepared by cyclic voltammetry on ITO substrates in aniline (AN) and o-aminobenzene sulfonic acid (OSA) mixed monomer solutions with AN/OSA mole ratios of 25/75, 50/50, and 75/25, followed by investigations on electrocatalytic activities of the copolymers to redox ...

Prediction of electrocatalytic activity of boron nanostructures
Chemical Physics Letters, 2018Abstract The dissociation of O2 and HO2 are important reactions that occur at the cathode of fuel cells producing H2O and use platinum as a catalyst. There is a need to replace platinum with less expensive catalysts. Here the possibility of boron nanostructures as catalysts for the reactions is considered using density functional theory.

Enhancement of electrocatalytic activity of gold nanoparticles by sonochemical treatment
Chemical Communications, 2010We demonstrate that gold nanoparticles can become catalytically active for the electrochemical hydrogen oxidation reaction by a sonication treatment. Experimental data and theoretical calculations indicate that the activity arises from the supercooled molten state of gold nanoparticles which are enriched with coordinatively unsaturated gold atoms.

Electrocatalytic Activity of Nitrogen-Doped Carbon Nanotube Cups
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2009The electrochemical activity of stacked nitrogen-doped carbon nanotube cups (NCNCs) has been explored in comparison to commercial Pt-decorated carbon nanotubes. The nanocup catalyst has demonstrated comparable performance to that of Pt catalyst in oxygen reduction reaction.

Synthesis, Characterization and Electrocatalytic Activity of Fused Gold Nanoparticles
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2011This paper describes the synthesis of fused spherical gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and their electrocatalytic activity towards the oxidation of hydroxylamine (HA). Fused AuNPs were prepared by one-pot synthesis using 2-mercapto-4-methyl-5-thiazoleacetic acid (TAA) as a stabilizing agent and sodium borohydride (NaBH4) as a reducing agent.

Synthesis of Atomic Gold Clusters with Strong Electrocatalytic Activities
Langmuir, 2008Small atomic gold clusters in solution, Au n , stabilized by tetrabutyl ammonium bromide (TBABr), have been synthesized by a simple electrochemical technique, based on the anodic dissolution of a gold electrode in the presence of TBABr salt, and using acetronitrile as solvent.
