Enhanced Electrocatalytic Activity of Copper–Cobalt Nanostructures
The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2011Novel core–shell nanostructures containing Cu and Co have been synthesized using the microemulsion method at 700 °C. The core consists of Cu–Co composite particles, whereas the shell is composed of Cu–Co alloy particles (shell thickness ∼12 nm). It is to be noted that in bulk Cu–Co binary system there is practically no miscibility.

Electrocatalytic activation of small molecules
2017Electrochemsitry and electrocatalysis are useful techniques for energy conversion and energy storage applications. In this project, the electrocatalytic activation of small molecules, H₂O, methanol and ethanol, and CO₂, has been studied as potential methods for energy storage and conversion.

How Intra-Particle Active Site Dispersion Impacts Electrocatalytic Activity
ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2016D-band position is often used to describe the reactivity of alloy catalysts. However, the spatial separation (dispersion) and geometric arrangement of catalytically active surface atoms can also control the system’s overall reactivity. My talk will discuss how the dispersion of catalytically active Rh atoms within 2-3 nm, ligand-protected Au/Rh alloy ...

Nanoporous alloy aggregates: synthesis and electrocatalytic activity
Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2011Nanoporous structures are widely used for many applications and hence there have been several efforts directed towards their synthesis. While several template-based and template-less approaches are available for monometallic systems, there is no general method for the synthesis of nanoporous multicomponent systems/alloys.

Heterogenization of Molecular Electrocatalytic Active Sites through Reticular Chemistry
Advanced Materials, 2022AbstractThe electrochemical conversion of small molecules, such as CO2, O2, and H2O, has received significant attention as a potential engine for sustainable life. Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are a promising class of electrocatalytic materials for such processes.

Electrocatalytic activity of poly(3-methylthiophene) electrodes
Journal of Solid State Electrochemistry, 2005Poly 3-methylthiophene (P3MT) modified electrodes have shown an improvement for detecting catecholamines when compared to classical ones. Past work with this polymer electrode suggested the possible presence of “active sites,” which are believed to be the polymer’s center of electrocatalytic activity.
