Fabrication of nanosized metallic copper by electrochemical milling process
Journal of Materials Science, 2007Using a copper oxide powder of micrometer size as the starting electrode material in CuO/Li cells, copper oxide (CuO) can be electrochemically reduced into metal particles of smaller sizes in a controllable way. A novel electrochemical milling (ECM) method is developed for a “top–down” synthesis of nanometer-scaled metal particles.

Generation of Stepped Profiles on Ti6Al4V by Electrochemical Milling
Journal of The Institution of Engineers (India): Series C, 2019Generation of accurate complex-shaped products on various high-strength temperature-resistant (HSTR) alloys such as titanium and nickel alloys is a key feature for many kinds of machine parts widely used in diverse industries starting from biomedical to defence industries. Being free of tool wear, thermal stresses and residual stresses, electrochemical

Structure and electrochemical property of ball-milled Ti0.26Zr0.07Mn0.1Ni0.33V0.24 alloy
Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2009Abstract In present study, high-energy ball-milling (HEBM) is used in order to improve the cyclic stability and other electrochemical properties of Ti0.26Zr0.07Mn0.1Ni0.33V0.24 alloy. The effect of the milling time on crystallographic and electrochemical characteristics of the alloy has been investigated systematically.

Enhanced electrochemical properties of ball-milled Mg2Ni electrodes
International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2002Abstract The characteristics and mechanisms of enhanced electrochemical properties for a Mg 2 Ni alloy produced by a ball-milling treatment were investigated by electrochemical measurements and XRD analysis. The particle size decreases, the internal strain increases, and the alloy gradually becomes amorphous on ball-milling.

Electrochemical treatment of olive oil mill wastewater.
Annali di chimica, 2001The possibility of oxidizing at a PbO2 anode the phenols and polyphenols, present in the olive oil mill wastewater, has been studied as a pretreatment for the submission of such wastewater to the traditional biological treatments. The results obtained operating at current densities ranging 500 to 2000 A/m2 show that it is possible to reduce the ...

Electrochemical inactivation of paper mill bacteria with mixed metal oxide electrode
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2008In this study electrochemical inactivation of selected bacteria living in paper mill circulating waters was investigated. Three aerobic bacteria species (Deinococcus geothermalis, Pseudoxanthomonas taiwanensis and Meiothermus silvanus) were inactivated effectively (>2 log) at a mixed metal oxide (MMO) electrode in 3 min.

Electrochemical sulfide removal and recovery from paper mill anaerobic treatment effluent
Water Research, 2010Sulfide can be removed from wastewater and recovered as elemental sulfur using an electrochemical process. Recently, we demonstrated this principle of product recovery on synthetic feeds. Here, we present a lab scale electrochemical reactor continuously removing sulfide from the effluent of an anaerobic treatment process operated on paper mill ...

Experimental and numerical investigations in electro-chemical milling
CIRP Journal of Manufacturing Science and Technology, 2016This paper presents experimental and numerical investigations into electro-chemical (EC) milling of simple features such as slots and pockets. Preliminary experimental investigations into the machining of a slot enabled appropriate process parameters to be selected; these were then used to machine a simple square pocket and finally a pocket with a ...

Improved performance through milling: A method for enhancing the catalytic activity of supported metal nanoparticles is reported. This method enhances the activity for the ethanol electro-oxidation of a supported palladium catalyst. The much higher catalytic performance is ascribed to the increased electrochemically active surface area as well as the ...

Electrochemical hydrogen storage of ball-milled MmMg12 alloy–Ni composites
International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2010Abstract MmMg12–Ni amorphous or nanocrystalline composites (Mm: Ce-rich mischmetal) were prepared through the ball-milling method, and their electrochemical hydrogen storage performance was investigated and compared with that of ball-milled CeMg12–Ni composites.
