Rational Control of Antibody Orientation for Enhancing Sensitivity and Specificity in Lateral Flow Immunoassays With Clinical Validation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 41, 6 November 2026.
Systematic investigation of antibody orientation strategies in lateral flow immunoassays reveals that a para‐substituted (aminomethyl)phenylboronic acid mediated probe (P‐6) combined with a biotin‐streptavidin test‐line modification achieves a synergistic 14‐ to 19‐fold sensitivity gain over conventional conjugation. Furthermore, multiplexed detection,

Racial Variations in PSA and PSA Density Among Men With Negative Prostate Biopsies: A Multicenter Comparative Study of Chinese, African American, and Caucasian American Populations

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Prostate‐specific antigen (PSA) and PSA density (PSAD) are widely used for prostate cancer (PCa) screening, but their diagnostic thresholds have not been differentially adjusted for ethnic groups in clinical practice. This multicenter study aimed to establish the distribution of PSA and PSAD in Chinese men without PCa and compare ...

Marked Hypergastrinemia and Extreme Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate Elevation in Autoimmune Atrophic Gastritis with Severe Iron Deficiency Anemia: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Autoimmune atrophic gastritis causes loss of oxyntic glands, reduced acid secretion, compensatory hypergastrinemia, and impaired iron and vitamin B12 absorption. A 46‐year‐old woman with minimal gastrointestinal symptoms had fasting serum gastrin > 1800 ng/L, an erythrocyte sedimentation rate of 109 mm/h, hemoglobin 8.2 g/dL, and microcytosis.

Association of Vitamin B6 and Homocysteine–ACTH Coupling With Depressive and Anxiety Symptoms in Burning Mouth Syndrome: An Exploratory Case–Control Study

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, Volume 53, Issue 11, Page 2053-2063, November 2026.
In this exploratory case–control study, plasma PLP (vitamin B6), homocysteine and ACTH concentrations did not differ between patients with burning mouth syndrome (BMS) and controls, and none discriminated patients individually. Within patients, however, psychological distress mapped onto a homocysteine–ACTH relationship from which PLP appeared ...

Cross‐cohort NULISAseq identifies tau‐anchored CSF and plasma‐specific signatures across the amyloid‐positive Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION ATN‐stratified cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) proteomic signals may partly reflect classifier tau immunoassays; reproducible non‐tau signals and CSF–plasma differences remain unclear. METHODS We profiled CSF from 60 A+ Beijing patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and 875 A+ Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI ...

Chronic Central Adrenal Insufficiency in a Patient With Remote Traumatic Brain Injury and an Apparently Adequate Standard‐Dose ACTH Response: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT In patients with a remote history of traumatic brain injury, central adrenal insufficiency may remain unrecognized for decades. An apparently adequate response to standard‐dose ACTH stimulation should not preclude further evaluation of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis when clinical and biochemical findings continue to suggest adrenal ...

N-Terminal Pro-Brain Natriuretic Peptide (Nt-proBNP) Serum Concentrations in Apparently Healthy Bosnian Women

open access: yesBiomolecules & Biomedicine, 2007
Brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) is a cardiac hormone secreted predominantly from the ventricles. This hormone is produced as pre-prohormone BNP (pro BNP), than cleaved by corine to biologically active 32-aminoacid BNP and non-biologically active N ...
