An improved implantable temporary pacemaker electrode
A new temporary pacemaker electrode, which leaves no exposed areas of wire when implanted, has been designed for use in postoperative cardiac surgical patients. The device, tested in 28 patients who underwent open-heart surgery, has significantly reduced the increase in myocardial threshold to pacing that occurs with the commonly used electrode ...

Gourd‐Inspired Design of Unit Cell with Multiple Gradients for Physiological‐Range Pressure Sensing
Gourd‐shaped micro‐dome arrays with coordinated modulus, conductivity, and geometric gradients co‐optimize sensitivity and linearity in piezoresistive tactile sensors. Under pressure, a solid upper dome embeds into a porous lower dome, triggering rapid contact‐area growth and series‐to‐parallel conduction, enabling unsaturated, intensity‐resolved ...

Remote Stimulation of Sciatic Nerve Using Cuff Electrodes and Implanted Diodes
We demonstrate a method of neurostimulation using implanted, free-floating, inter-neural diodes. They are activated by volume-conducted, high frequency, alternating current (AC) fields and address the issue of instability caused by interconnect wires in ...

Effects of Molecular Designs and Double‐Network Morphologies for Bioadhesive Semiconductors
This study establishes molecular‐to‐mesoscale design rules for bioadhesive semiconducting polymers (BASCs). It identifies how side‐chain length, double‐network formation, and film thickness modulate adhesion strength and electronic performance, providing insight into the rational design of intrinsically adhesive semiconductors for stable and efficient ...
