Numerical Simulation of Coupled Electromagnetic and Thermal Fields in Cable Terminations
This paper deals with the distribution of the conduction current in a high-voltage cable termination with an imperfect insulation or polluted insulation. The thermal effect of the conduction current in an imperfect insulation is included in the model. The case of the variable resistivity of the insulation is included in the analysis of the termination.

The main goal is to present results of numerical simulations of induction heating process in pieces of cylindrical shape, using an inductor with variable step between the coils. Inducting heating process modelling was made with the Flux2D software and for study we present the temperature charts of the billet at different time steps.

Induction heating has long been recognised as an efficient, clean rapid method of heating billets for forging, extrusion and other metal forming operations. A typical practical computer model is described, which continuously recalculates the transient temperature distribution throughout the heating cycle.
