Analysis of Coupled Electromagnetic and Thermal Fields in the Instationary Case

2001
The handling of mission-critical devices, e.g. electro-mechanical actuators, requires an exact calculation of the electromagnetic field. For this task, thermal influences on the electrical behavior cannot be neglected. Furthermore stationary solutions will no longer be sufficient for the coupled problem.

Modeling of Mutual Coupling Between Electromagnetic and Thermal Fields in Microwave Heating

2007 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, 2007
This paper presents the analysis and modeling of the mutual coupling between thermal and electromagnetic fields. During the microwave heating process the microwaves are dissipated to heat due to the dielectric losses of the medium. The heat propagation inside the medium depends on its thermal parameters as well as on different propagation mechanisms ...

A multi-field coupling model for the magnetic-thermal-structural analysis in the electromagnetic rail launch

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2021
Abstract The magnetic-thermal-structural performances (MTSP) in an electromagnetic rail launcher have a significant influence on the successful launch capability. However, it is difficult to explore the MTSP directly through the experimental measurement due to the approximately adiabatic processes in the in-bore environment of the launcher, which ...

Numerical simulation of coupled transient thermal and electromagnetic fields with the finite integration method

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2000
A consistent iterative method for the simultaneous discretization of Maxwell's equations and of the heat conduction equation in weakly coupled systems is presented. The algorithm is an implementation of the finite integration method combined with both explicit and implicit FDTD schemes for the transient analysis.

Numerical Analysis of Electromagnetic Field Coupled with the Thermal Field in Induction Heating Process

2012
The main goal is to present results of numerical simulations of induction heating process in pieces of cylindrical shape, using an inductor with variable step between the coils. Inducting heating process modelling was made with the Flux2D software and for study we present the temperature charts of the billet at different time steps.

Collaborative simulation analysis and research of coupled electromagnetic-thermal field of cable bundles

2010 11th International Conference on Electronic Packaging Technology & High Density Packaging, 2010
As the information transmission medium widely used in the electronic equipment 3D interconnection, cables have many advantages, such as flexible routing, little electromagnetic interference, and highly cost effective, so they have an irreplaceable position for information transmission. In order to keep cables orderly and maintain easily, they are often

Solution of Coupled Electromagnetic and Thermal Fields

2019
The objective of this chapter is to discuss the electromagnetic and thermal simulation requirements when designing large power transformers; in particular, the focus will be on the study of overheat problems in the transformer tank due to the leakage flux and the induced eddy currents. There are a number of requirements for the model specification, the

An EIGA driven coupled of electromagnetic-thermal field modeling in the induction melting process

International Journal of Material Forming, 2018
A crucible-free, an Electrode Induction melting Gas Atomization (EIGA) technique for induction melting of the reactive and refractory metals/alloys is developed. The impedance matching of the superalloy Rene95 in a conical induction has been investigated.

A nonlinear electromagnetic-mechanical-thermal multi-field coupled model for Galfenol rods

2019 22nd International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2019
A nonlinear electromagnetic-mechanical-thermal multi-field coupled model for Galfenol rods is established with the theory of Gibbs free energy, Jiles-Atherton model, Stoner-Wohlfarth model and the hybrid vector magnetic hysteresis model. The model considers the electromagnetic-mechanical-thermal coupling terms, dynamic losses properties and the ...

Computer modelling of 3D transient thermal field coupled with electromagnetic field in three‐phase induction motor on load

COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2010
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to present the plan to develop the known algorithm for thermal and electromagnetic coupled problem calculation. This is used for three‐phase induction motor (IM) on nominal load. An additional purpose is verification empiric expressions of the heat transfer and equivalent thermal conductivity coefficients for ...
