Calculation of Nb3Sn superconducting magnet's inductance and distribution of electromagnetic force
2010 Second Pacific-Asia Conference on Circuits, Communications and System, 2010The electromagnetic force distribution of Nb 3 Sn superconducting magnet is analyzed and obtained when the magnet is in the maximum magnetic field, then the request of magnet's structural strength is offered. Next, three methods of calculating the coil inductance are presented which are flux method, energy method and classical formula method.

Electromagnetic force density distribution in MPD thrusters
Vacuum, 1991The electromagnetic force density distribution in the interior of MPD thrusters is investigated by numerically solving the electromagnetic equations. It is found that the maximum force densities occur on the cathode longitudinal surface. Hydrogen propellant is found to result in the largest axial force density magnitudes among the propellants ...

3-D Electromagnetic Force Distribution in the End Region of Turbogenerator
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2009The paper deals with detailed investigation of the electromagnetic forces in the end zone of turbine generator. The electromagnetic field is analyzed using 3-D FEM computation. The regions of interest are the stator and rotor end cores including the zone of the teeth and the end windings.

With the development of electric vehicles, more and more attentions have been put on understanding and attenuating the noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) of traction machines. NVH in machines are mainly caused by the electromagnetic force, which is complex vector functions of both time and space, and models are desired for accurately evaluating its ...

This paper studies a solenoid DC electromagnetic actuator with T-shaped armature. Using the finite element method, a computer model has been developed in the software product Comsol Multiphysics for studying the 3D magnetic field and the force characteristics of the actuator. Comparison has been made with results, obtained for an actuator with E-shaped

For continuous or spiral windings which feature multiple continuously transposed conductors (CTC) wound in parallel, the transposition structure is commonly used to suppress circulation between conductors. This introduces a local asymmetry in transformer windings. Fault analyses have shown that building an asymmetric structure in transformers increases

Equivalent Rectangular Element Method for Regularized Distribution of Electromagnetic Body Force
2006 12th Biennial IEEE Conference on Electromagnetic Field Computation, 2006In this paper, an observation of body force distribution and its regularized one are dealt with. The calculated body force field is irregularly distributed in general because of its nature. For obtaining regularized force distribution, equivalent rectangular element (ERE) method is proposed. It can be easily implemented in the stage of post-processing.

Typically, the range and sensitivity of force sensors are determined during production. However, to be able to do both delicate and high-force demanding work, adjustable force sensitivity would be beneficial. The current paper proposes such a sensor by implementing a planar electromagnet above a 3-axis magnetic sensor, separated by soft foam ...
