Human and Deep Learning Predictions of Peripheral Lung Cancer Using a 1.3 mm Video Endoscopic Probe
Direct endoscopic visualisation of peripheral pulmonary nodule smaller than 2 cm is feasible using a miniaturised video endoscopy probe, and this endoscopic imaging of these peripheral lung lesions can predict malignancy with high accuracy, both by human eyes and a deep learning generated prediction model.

Contemporary Concise Review 2024: New Techniques in Interventional Pulmonology
SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS Navigational bronchoscopy and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) guided bronchoscopy show comparable yields to percutaneous transthoracic needle biopsy of lung nodules. Robotic assisted bronchoscopy (RAB) with advanced imaging (CBCT or digital tomosynthesis) improves diagnostic yield further.

This study presents an innovative method to generate high‐quality, objectively annotated cytology datasets without relying on expert involvement. Large‐scale single‐cell DNA sequencing is used as an objective ground truth of cell annotation for generating an accurate, unbiased dataset of exfoliated tumor cells from bronchoalveolar lavage cytology ...
