Static and Transient Electromagnetic Features of the EFDA Dipole
IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2008The EFDA dipole (EDIPO) is a superconducting magnet made of a pair saddle-shaped winding packs enclosed in a circular iron yoke which, in turn, is contained inside an austenitic steel cylinder. In this paper the key electromechanical features of the dipole are presented.

Measurement and Observation of Electromagnetic Transients
2019Power electronic systems consist of interactions between the information and energy. To implement the effective energy propagation through the control system, the related energy-flow information needs be fed back to the control unit, i.e., measurement and analysis.

Electromagnetic transients in conducting media
IRE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1960In a recent paper, Richards derives expressions for the electric and magnetic fields of a short pulse of electric or magnetic dipole moment in a conducting medium. An alternative analysis is given which explains certain unusual results of the original work as arising from dispersion in the conducting medium and from the frequency dependence of the ...

Digital simulation of electromagnetic transients
Electric Power Systems Research, 1997Abstract This paper presents the development of a new time domain simulation program for the computation of electromagnetic transients over a wide frequency spectrum. The application of the program to investigate the Subsynchronous Resonance phenomenon is given.
