Electron-impact rotational excitation of water

open access: yes, 2004
Rotational excitation of H2O, HDO and D2O by thermal electron impact is studied using the molecular R-matrix method. Rate coefficients are obtained up to electron temperatures of 8000 K. De-excitation rates and critical electron densities are also given.

Regulated Ion‐Diffusion Hydrogels for Subtle and Multimodal Temperature‐Strain Sensing in Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.

Vibrationally resolved electron impact electronic excitation of BeH [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Beryllium is being adopted for plasma facing walls in fusion reactors. This has led to the observation of emissions from the A 2Π state of beryllium hydride. Use of these emissions to monitor Be erosion requires electron impact excitation rates.

X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...

EEDF MEASUREMENTS AND EXCITATION PROCESSES IN THE VICINITY OF A HELIUM DISCHARGE CONSTRICTION [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 1998
Axial distributions of plasma and floating potentials, electron number density and the electron energy distribution function (EEDF) have been measured in the double layer (DL) region of an He discharge constriction.

Electron-impact excitation of Ar 2+

open access: yes, 2009
Context: Emission from Ar III is seen in planetary nebulae, in H II regions, and from laboratory plasmas. The analysis of such spectra requires accurate electron impact excitation data.

Historical Foundation and Practical Guideline for Ferroelectric Switching Kinetic Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The P and U pulses in the conventional PUND measurements are not identical because of the interplay between switching current and the measurement circuit components. This circuit effect can lead to a shift in polarization transients and misinterpreted physics in the switching kinetics.

Electron-impact excitation of diatomic hydride cations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
R-matrix calculations combined with the adiabatic nuclei approximation are used to compute electron-impact rotational excitation rates for three closed-shell diatomic cations,HeH+, CH+, ArH+.

Electron Impact Excitation of Ions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
The ancient curiosity of “what produces the light” still motivates research on electron impact excitation of ions. We have developed extensive knowledge of the subject which relies on detailed information about atomic structure and a conviction that quantum theory, in principle, correctly describes the atomic structure and the collision dynamics. Still,
