UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Milliwatt Three- and Four-Pulse Double Electron Electron Resonance for Protein Structure Determination. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) experiments for protein structure determination using double electron-electron resonance (DEER) spectroscopy rely on very high incident microwave powers (>300 W) to create the short pulse lengths needed to excite a ...

ATP Analogues for Structural Investigations: Case Studies of a DnaB Helicase and an ABC Transporter

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Nucleoside triphosphates (NTPs) are used as chemical energy source in a variety of cell systems. Structural snapshots along the NTP hydrolysis reaction coordinate are typically obtained by adding stable, nonhydrolyzable adenosine triphosphate (ATP ...

Comparative Electron‐Nuclear Double Resonance Study of Two Flavoproteins [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Biochemistry, 1970
The proton electron‐nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) of flavin radicals in NADPH dehydrogenase and a flavoprotein from Azotobacter vinelandii have been studied at −160 and −120°. By combination of the apoprotein of NADPH dehydrogenase with [8‐Me‐2H3]FMN, it was demonstrated that the CH3(8) group of the coenzyme gives an ENDOR signal.

GelMA‐based 3D spheroids recapitulate transcriptomic and functional hallmarks of myeloid sarcoma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
GelMA 5% hydrogels support the formation of myeloid leukemia spheroids that recapitulate MS‐specific features, including G1 arrest, apoptosis, and ECM‐driven transcriptomic reprogramming. The 3D model mimicked soft‐tissue‐like stiffness and oxygen conditions, and transcriptomic convergence with primary MS samples confirmed its utility as a preclinical ...

Hyperfine interactions of paramagnetic radiation-induced defect centres in advanced ceramic breeder pebbles

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
Advanced ceramic breeder (ACB) pebbles consisting of 65 mol% lithium orthosilicate (Li4SiO4) and 35 mol% lithium metatitanate (Li2TiO3) are developed for tritium breeding in the European Union’s (EU) helium cooled pebble bed (HCPB) breeder blanket ...

Incorporation of Manganese (II) in Beta-Tricalcium Phosphate from EPR and ENDOR Measurements for Powders

open access: yesCeramics, 2022
Powders of β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP, Ca3PO4) doped with manganese (Mn2+) are comprehensively analyzed with electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and electron-nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) techniques.

Superlubricity and Corrosion Inhibition Properties of Solvate Ionic Liquids in Hybrid Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic–Steel Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...
