Analysis of electron density calculations using deterministic-probabilistic model of the ionospheric D-region

open access: yesSolar-Terrestrial Physics, 2018
The work is devoted to the development of a fundamentally new way of modeling the ionospheric D-region – deterministic-probabilistic. The results of Ne calculations using this technique are analyzed.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

On the Sign of Local Temperature in Molecules

open access: yesEntropy, 1999
: Lin proposed earlier based on qualitative considerations that electronic motion was associated with negative absolute temperature. Here, a local temperature formula is proposed for electronic motion in atoms and molecules, which allows the existence of

Ionosphere over Ukrainian Antarctic Akademik Vernadsky station under minima of solar and magnetic activities, and daily insolation: case study for June 2019

open access: yesУкраїнський антарктичний журнал, 2020
We present ionospheric observational results obtained over Ukrainian Antarctic Akademik Vernadsky station. Ionospheric parameters (peak electron density and height, electron density and electron and ion temperatures in the topside) during the period near

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Topside Ionosphere During the Mother's Day Superstorm as Observed by Multiple LEO Spacecraft, Including SNIPE

open access: yesSpace Weather
We analyze the topside electron density and temperature during the superstorm in May 2024 (Mother's Day storm or Gannon storm), using multiple Low‐Earth Orbit (LEO) spacecraft operating at different altitudes, such as Swarm, International Space Station ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
