Magnetoresistance of a two-dimensional electron gas in a parallel magnetic field

open access: yes, 2000
The conductivity of a two-dimensional electron gas in a parallel magnetic field is calculated. We take into account the magnetic field induced spin-splitting, which changes the density of states, the Fermi momentum and the screening behavior of the ...

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Analysis of electron density calculations using deterministic-probabilistic model of the ionospheric D-region

open access: yesSolar-Terrestrial Physics, 2018
The work is devoted to the development of a fundamentally new way of modeling the ionospheric D-region – deterministic-probabilistic. The results of Ne calculations using this technique are analyzed.

High-density correlation energy expansion of the one-dimensional uniform electron gas

open access: yes, 2013
We show that the expression of the high-density (i.e small-$r_s$) correlation energy per electron for the one-dimensional uniform electron gas can be obtained by conventional perturbation theory and is of the form $\Ec(r_s) = -\pi^2/360 + 0.00845 r_s + ..

High resolution Compton scattering as a Probe of the Fermi surface in the Iron-based superconductor $LaO_{1-x}F_xFeAs$

open access: yes, 2010
We have carried out first principles all-electron calculations of the (001)-projected 2D electron momentum density and the directional Compton profiles along the [100], [001] and [110] directions in the Fe-based superconductor LaOFeAs within the ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

On the Sign of Local Temperature in Molecules

open access: yesEntropy, 1999
: Lin proposed earlier based on qualitative considerations that electronic motion was associated with negative absolute temperature. Here, a local temperature formula is proposed for electronic motion in atoms and molecules, which allows the existence of

Ionosphere over Ukrainian Antarctic Akademik Vernadsky station under minima of solar and magnetic activities, and daily insolation: case study for June 2019

open access: yesУкраїнський антарктичний журнал, 2020
We present ionospheric observational results obtained over Ukrainian Antarctic Akademik Vernadsky station. Ionospheric parameters (peak electron density and height, electron density and electron and ion temperatures in the topside) during the period near

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.
