LaTiO3/KTaO3 interfaces: A new two-dimensional electron gas system
We report a new 2D electron gas (2DEG) system at the interface between a Mott insulator, LaTiO3, and a band insulator, KTaO3. For LaTiO3/KTaO3 interfaces, we observe metallic conduction from 2 K to 300 K.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...

Landau damping in an electron gas
Material science methods aim at developing efficient computational schemes for describing complex many-body effects and how they are revealed in experimentally measurable properties. Bethe-Salpeter equation in the self-consistent Hartree-Fock basis is often used for this purpose, and in this paper we employ the real-frequency diagrammatic Monte Carlo ...

Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

Performance Studies of Aluminium-Based Gas Electron Multiplier Detector
In this paper, we report on a systematic study of a soft X-ray Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM) detector built with aluminium-clad kapton GEM foils. The primary objective of this research is to comprehend the performance of this type of detector when ...

Gas desorption and electron emission from 1 MeV potassium ion bombardment of stainless steel
Gas desorption and electron emission coefficients were measured for 1 MeV potassium ions incident on stainless steel at grazing angles (between 80° and 88° from normal incidence) using a new gas-electron source diagnostic (GESD).

Creep‐Induced Microstructural Evolution in an A2‐B2 Superalloy
A 27.3Ta‐27.3Mo‐27.3Ti‐8Cr‐10Al (at.%) refractory high‐entropy alloy with precipitation‐strengthened A2‐B2 microstructure was studied by creep tests at 1030°C, which demonstrate a transition in deformation mechanisms in the range of 100–150 MPa applied stress. This is associated with changes in dislocation–precipitate interactions. Relevant deformation
