Advanced glycation end products promote the release of endothelial cell‐derived mitocytosis
Under diabetic conditions, AGEs induce mitochondrial damage in HUVECs, activating migrasome‐mediated mitocytosis. Migrasomes encapsulate damaged mitochondria and are released into the extracellular space, facilitating intercellular mitochondrial transfer.

The portal-scaffold complex is believed to nucleate the assembly of herpesvirus procapsids. During capsid maturation, two events occur: scaffold expulsion and DNA incorporation. The portal-scaffold interaction and the conformational changes that occur to

Electron Beam Artifacts in Liquid-Cell Electron Microscopy [PDF]
Bubbles may form when imaging liquids with in situ liquid-cell electron microscopy. Fluid dynamics videos show beam-induced bubble nucleation and growth. By examining the bubble formation and growth process, we hope to gain a better understanding of interactions between the electron beam and liquids.

Skin calcium deposits in primary familial brain calcification: A novel potential biomarker
Abstract Objective Primary Familial Brain Calcification (PFBC) is a rare neurodegenerative disorder characterized by small vessel calcifications in the basal ganglia. PFBC is caused by pathogenic variants in different genes and its physiopathology is still largely unknown. Skin vascular calcifications have been detected in single PFBC cases, suggesting

Multi-modal Image Registration for Correlative Microscopy [PDF]
Correlative microscopy is a methodology combining the functionality of light microscopy with the high resolution of electron microscopy and other microscopy technologies. Image registration for correlative microscopy is quite challenging because it is a multi-modal, multi-scale and multi-dimensional registration problem. In this report, I introduce two

Epitope Mapping of Anti‐Neurofascin 155 Antibody in a Large Cohort of Autoimmune Nodopathy Patients
ABSTRACT Objective Autoimmune nodopathy (AN), a newly recognized disease entity, is an immune‐mediated polyneuropathy involving autoantibodies against cell adhesion molecules located in nodes of Ranvier and paranodal regions, such as neurofascin 186 (NF186) and neurofascin 155 (NF155). The present study aimed to identify the epitopes for autoantibodies

Functionalization of atomic force microscopy Akiyama tips for magnetic force microscopy measurements [PDF]
In this work we have used focused electron beam induced deposition of cobalt to functionalize atomic force microscopy Akiyama tips for application in magnetic force microscopy. The grown tips have a content of 90% Co after exposure to ambient air. The magnetic tips were characterized using energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and scanning electron ...

Hypoxia promotes the epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) of renal tubular epithelial cells via the SIRT1‐FoxO1‐FoxO3‐autophagy pathway, thereby resulting in the fibrosis of renal tubular epithelial cells. Activation of SIRT1 or induction of autophagy inhibits this process, alleviating hypoxia‐induced fibrosis.

RhoA and Rac1 as Mechanotransduction Mediators in Colorectal Cancer
Analysing RhoA and Rac1 protein levels in Colorectal cancer (CRC) samples under mechanical strain highlights their potential as diagnostic markers. Monitoring their activity could offer valuable insights into how cancer spreads, paving the way for new approaches to better understand and diagnose colorectal cancer.
