Determination of the fraction of paramagnetic centers not-fulfilling the Curie law in coal macerals by the two-temperature EPR measurement method

open access: yesNukleonika, 2015
Two-temperature electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements, applied to determine the relative contributions of paramagnetic centers – fulfilling and not-fulfilling the Curie law, were carried out.

2D MOF with Intrinsic Porosity for Colorimetric Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An uncommon 2D MOF with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that can be mechanically exfoliated undergoes a distinct and reversible colour change upon exposure to various volatile organic compounds. ABSTRACT In this work, we report an uncommon 2D metal–organic framework (MOF) with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that undergoes a distinct and reversible colour ...

Decoupling Activation and Preservation: Architectural Design Principles of Organic Frameworks for Selective Photocatalytic Methane Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Selective methane (CH4) photooxidation emerges from architectural decoupling of activation and preservation. Programmable organic semiconductor frameworks spatially organize oxidative flux and intermediate residence, separating reaction zones from product domains to synchronize activation strength with stabilization and establish a selective oxidation ...

Recent Advances in Ferrite‐Based Materials for Biomedical Applications: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ferrite nanoplatforms are presented as tunable biomedical materials in which synthesis control, cation engineering, defect/morphology regulation, and surface functionalization govern structure–property–bioactivity relationships. These design strategies enable multifunctional applications including MRI contrast, magnetic hyperthermia, targeted drug ...

Characterization of Paramagnetic Species in Seeds by Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR)

open access: yesRE&PQJ
Paramagnetic species were characterized in the seeds of radish wild, rice, mustard, wheat, oats, sorghum, sunflower, soybean, cotton, beans, maize and barley by Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR). Some iron complexes such as goethite, hematite, magnetite, and ferrihydrite, normally present in the soil, were also investigated by EPR, since their ...

Angstrom‐Scale Confined Ion Sieve and Accelerator for Efficient Aqueous Zinc Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An angstrom‐scale confined ion accelerator strategy is proposed for ultra‐stable aqueous Zn anodes. Selective and precise transport of hydrated Zn(H2O)62+, Zn2+ cations, H2O molecules, and SO42− anions is achieved by in‐plane atomic Ti vacancies and angstrom‐scale interlayer free spacing within the Ti0.87O2 interfacial layer, leading to homogeneous Zn ...

Clinical Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) Oximetry Using India Ink [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) oximetry can be used to provide direct absolute measurements of pO(2) in living tissue using India ink as an O(2) reporter. In vivo measurements are made using low frequency (1.2 GHz) EPR spectroscopy and surface loop resonators, which enable measurements to be made at superficial sites through a non-invasive ...

Cu‐Pd Dual Single Atoms Promoting Selective CO2 Photoreduction to C2 Products in Seawater

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cu and Pd dual single atoms anchored on TiO2 cooperatively enhance C─C coupling during CO2 photoreduction in seawater. Under xenon‐light irradiation and without a sacrificial reagent/alkaline trapping agent, the catalyst achieves highly selective acetic acid formation.
