Coherent beam-beam interactions in electron-positron colliders [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1991
We present the results of a new calculational technique that evaluates the beam-beam force due to an arbitrary charge distribution. We find coherent instabilities that dominate at certain operating points and depend strongly on the degree of damping in the system.

Beam-beam interaction in a dielectric laser accelerator electron-positron collider [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2021
We examine through numerical calculation the collision of counter-propagating trains of optically spaced electron/positron microbunches in a 1 TeV collider scenario for a dielectric laser accelerator (DLA). A time-dependent envelope equation is derived for arbitrary number of bunches in the classical limit, with inclusion of the radiation reaction ...

Novel method of measuring electron positron colliding beam parameters [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2002
Through the simultaneous measurement of the transverse size as a function of longitudinal position, and the longitudinal distribution of luminosity, we are able to measure the $β_y^\ast$ (vertical envelope function at the collision point), vertical emittance, and bunch length of colliding beams at the Cornell Electron-positron Storage Ring (CESR). This

Beam -Beam Study on the Upgrade of Beijing Electron Positron Collider [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2005 Particle Accelerator Conference, 2006
It is an important issue to study the beam-beam interaction in the design and performance of such a high luminosity collider as BEPCII, the upgrade of Beijing Electron Positron Collider. The weak-strong simulation is generally used during the design of a collider.

Beam dump experiment at future electron–positron colliders

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2015
We propose a new beam dump experiment at future colliders with electron ($e^-$) and positron ($e^+$) beams, BDee, which will provide a new possibility to search for hidden particles, like hidden photon. If a particle detector is installed behind the beam dump, it can detect the signal of in-flight decay of the hidden particles produced by the ...

The beam energy measurement system for the Beijing electron-positron collider [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 2011
The beam energy measurement system (BEMS) for the upgraded Beijing electron-positron collider BEPC-II is described. The system is based on measuring the energies of Compton back-scattered photons. The relative systematic uncertainty of the electron and positron beam energy determination is estimated as 2 \cdot 10^{-5}.

Charge‐Transfer‐Mediated Boron Magneto‐Ionics: Towards Voltage‐Driven Multi‐Ion Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 55, 5 October 2026.
This study demonstrates voltage‐driven multi‐ion transport in FeBO systems, revealing simultaneous motion of B, Fe, and O ions enabled by charge‐transfer effects. By tuning oxidation states through oxygen incorporation, we achieve a transition from electrostatic‐like to electrochemical magneto‐ionic behavior. The findings establish boron magneto‐ionics,

Revisiting the humidity correction – A challenge to the current consensus

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 53, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Background The humidity correction factor, kh$k_\mathrm{h}$, for ionization chambers in radiation dosimetry has relied on a consensus value established in ICRU Report 31 nearly half a century ago. Purpose This study aims to rigorously re‐evaluate this long‐standing consensus by employing modern instrumentation. Methods First, the equilibration

Designing Polymer Nanocomposites for X‐Ray Shielding: Mechanisms, Architectures, and Scalable Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 15, 5 August 2026.
This review highlights advances in lightweight, lead‐free polymer nanocomposites for diagnostic X‐ray shielding. By linking filler chemistry, dispersion, architecture, and photon interaction mechanisms, it establishes structure–performance relationships guiding material design.
