Bis(terpyridine)iron(II) Complex Wires with a Bithiophene Linker for Superior Long-range Electron Transport

Chemistry Letters, 2015
Abstract Fabrication of bis(terpyridine)iron(II) complex wires by introduction of a bithiophene-linked bridging ligand (LBT) on the Au(111) surface is discussed. A comparative study revealed a very small energy gap between the HOMOs of Fe(tpy)2 and LBT indicating relatively strong electronic coupling and better electron-transport ability.

Electronic and thermal spin transport in single-molecule junctions based on a spin-crossover Fe(II) complex

The Journal of Chemical Physics
Due to the switchable magnetic bistability between the low-spin (LS) and high-spin (HS) states, spin-crossover (SCO) complexes have become one of the most promising candidates for designing molecular spintronic devices. Here, based on density functional theory calculations combined with the non-equilibrium Green’s function technique, we explore the ...

Design of redox systems for the selective transport of electrons across liquid membranes: nickel(II,III) tetraaza macrocyclic complexes

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 1989
The complexes NiLX 2 (L=N-cetylcyclam; X=Cl, ClO 4 ) have been synthesized to be used as carriers for the transport of electrons across a CH 2 Cl 2 bulk liquid membrane, through the Ni II /Ni III redox change. Two-phase (water/dichloromethane) experiments have shown that aqueous peroxydisulfate ion is able to oxidize Ni II LCl 2 , but not Ni II L ...

Studies of the Electron Transport Chain of the Euryarcheon Halobacterium salinarum: Indications for a Type II NADH Dehydrogenase and a Complex III Analog

Journal of Bioenergetics and Biomembranes, 1998
The components involved in the respiratory system of the euryarcheon Halobacterium salinarum were investigated by spectroscopic and polarographic techniques. Previous results about the cytochrome composition could be verified. However, under low oxygen tension, the expression of a d-type cytochrome was detected.

The Effects of Cationic Antiseptics on Spectral Characteristics and Electron Transport in Isolated Photosynthetic Complexes of Photosystems I and II

Biophysics
The effects of cationic antiseptics (used in micromolar concentrations) on active PS II core complexes isolated from spinach plants with an intact water oxidation complex and on PS I core complexes from the cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC6803 were studied.

Synthesis and green luminescent properties of Cu(II), Zn(II) polymeric complexes containing triphenylamine as hole-transporting unit and 1,10-phenanthroline derivative as electron-transporting unit

Materials Letters, 2009
Abstract New polymeric metal complexes containing triphenylamine as hole-transporting unit and 1,10-phenanthroline derivative as electron-transporting unit, 4,4′-bis([1,10]phenanthroline-[5,6-d]imidazol-N-octyl-2-yl) triphenylamine with copper (II) and zinc (II), were prepared and characterized by FT-IR, elemental Analysis, conductivity measurement ...

Triarylamine-conjugated Bis(terpyridine)–Iron(II) Complex Wires: Rapid and Long-range Electron-transport Ability

Chemistry Letters, 2013
Abstract Bis(terpyridine)–iron(II) complex wires (the number of the complex units: 1–3) possessing triarylamine at the termini were fabricated on gold electrode. The electron-transfer rate constant between the triarylamine moiety and gold electrode was quantified by means of potential-step chronoamperometry, revealing that (1 ...

Theoretical study on electronic structures, spectra, and charge transporting properties of two Pt(II) complexes with triazenido ligands

Russian Journal of General Chemistry, 2016
Two compounds 1-[(2-carboxymethyl)benzene]-3-[2-pyridine]triazene (HL) and 1-[(2-carboxymethyl) benzene]-3-[o-aminobenzoic acid]triazene (H2L') and two corresponding Pt(II) complexes, Pt(PPh3)2(L)Cl (1) and Pt(PPh3)2(L') (2), are theoretically studied by the density functional theory and time-dependent density functional theory. The geometric structure

Electron transport dynamics in thin polymer films containing tris(2,2′-bipyridine)osmium(III/II) complexes

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and Interfacial Electrochemistry, 1987
Abstract Rotating carbon disk electrodes were modified by a random copolymer (PSS-PVP) of styrenesulfonate and 4-vinylpyridine. The polymer was spincoated onto the electrodes, crosslinked by reaction with 1,2-dibromoethane, then loaded with Os(bpy)2+3 by ion exchange.

Nanostructured Cobalt(II) Tetracarboxyphthalocyanine Complex Supported Within the MWCNT Frameworks: Electron Transport and Charge Storage Capabilities

Electroanalysis, 2015
AbstractThe electrochemical redox properties of a surface‐confined thin solid film of nanostructured cobalt(II) tetracarboxyphthalocyanine integrated with multiwalled carbon nanotube (nanoCoTCPc/MWCNT) have been investigated. This novel nanoCoTCPc/MWCNT material was characterized using SEM, TEM, zeta analysis and electrochemical methods. The nanoCoTCPc/
