Reversed immunofixation agar gel electrophoresis

A method has been elaborated for investigation of biological fluids on the basis of the theory of the immunofixation electrophoresis. In spite of the usual methods of the immunofixation electrophoresis it is the antibody which moves by the electrophoresis and not the antigen.

Electrophoresis of Colicines in Agar Gel

IN 1953 Ludford and Lederer1 described the electrophoresis of colicines in agar gel, using a simple apparatus deriving its potential from a battery. Experiments were carried out in this department in 1959 using an apparatus similar to that used by Ludford and Lederer.

The title of this book belies its content because a significant portion of it is devoted to paper electrophoresis in neurology. The author correlates the spinal fluid protein patterns obtained with paper electrophoresis in over 500 normal and pathological cases with that obtained with agar gel electrophoresis in more than 800 samples.
