Effect of Deamination and Agar Addition on Physical Properties of Gelatin Extracted from Thunnus tonggol Skin [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Food Quality and Hazards Control
Background: In the past decade, gelatin extraction from fish skin has been intensively investigated. In comparison to mammalian gelatin, fish gelatin has weaker gelatinous and rheological properties, which limits its widespread application.

Plant-fed versus chemicals-fed rhizobacteria of Lucerne: Plant-only teabags culture media not only increase culturability of rhizobacteria but also recover a previously uncultured Lysobacter sp., Novosphingobium sp. and Pedobacter sp. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
In an effort to axenically culture the previously uncultivable populations of the rhizobacteria of Lucerne (Medicago sativa L.), we propose plant-only teabags culture media to mimic the nutritional matrix available in the rhizosphere.

Calcineurin‐Dependent Stress Adaptation Enables Caspofungin Heteroresistance Leading to Stable Resistance in Candida Glabrata

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Caspofungin heteroresistance is prevalent in clinical Candida glabrata isolates and depends on calcineurin‐mediated stress adaptation. This transient phenotype serves as a reservoir for resistance evolution, enabling the emergence of stable resistant descendants under prolonged drug pressure.

ISOLATION OF EGG DROP SYNDROME VIRUS AND ITS MOLECULAR CHARACTERIZATION USING SODIUM DODECYL SULPHATE POLYACRYLAMIDE GEL ELECTROPHORESIS [PDF]

open access: yesPakistan Veterinary Journal, 2005
Six isolates of egg drop syndrome (EDS) virus were recovered from five different outbreaks of EDS in commercial laying hens in and around Faisalabad. The aberrant eggs were fed to the susceptible laying hens for experimental induction of infection.

A Pan‐Methylome Framework for Population‐Scale Bacterial Epigenomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A scalable quantitative framework unlocks population‐level comparative epigenomics in bacteria. By transforming site‐level data into standardized traits, this approach reconstructs methylation‐informed phylogenies and defines the core epigenome.

PCR-based ribotyping of Staphylococcus aureus

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2002
Genotyping techniques are valuable tools for the epidemiologic study of Staphylococcus aureus infections in the hospital setting. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) is the current method of choice for S. aureus strain typing.
