Chiral (Stereoselective) Drugs, Asymmetric Synthesis, and Racemic Resolution Methods

open access: yesChirality, Volume 38, Issue 7, July 2026.
Chirality is crucial in drug development since both biological targets in the organism and the majority of pharmaceutical compounds are chiral. The synthesis and resolution of chiral compounds are critical steps while developing chiral drugs. Asymmetric synthesis and racemic resolution are the two most common methods for obtaining enantiopure drugs ...

A Study on the α- β-and γ-Polypeptide Chains in Normal Human Adult and Fetal Hemoglobin by Cellulose Acetate Membrane Electrophoresis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1965
For the purpose of separation and identification of the α-, β-and γ-polypeptide chains contained in healthy human adult and fetal hemoglobins, studies were performed by means of cellulose acetate membrane electrophoresis.

PLGA‐particle‐based vaccine induces SARS‐CoV‐2‐specific antibody and T‐cell responses

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 13, Page 3619-3632, July 2026.
A novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) vaccine encapsulating recombinant severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) spike receptor binding domain (RBD) with the double stranded RNA (dsRNA) analogue Riboxxim induces robust systemic and respiratory T‐ and B‐cell responses in mice.

Rapid Cellulose Acetate Electrophoresis

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 1963
Abstract A method is described for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of abnormal hemoglobins including hemoglobin A2. Quantitative values are comparable to those observed with the starch block technic. The analysis is completed within 2 hr. The apparatus is the same as that used for quantitative analysis of serum proteins.
