GENETIC DIFFERENTIATION OF COTTON CULTIVARS BY POLYACRYLAMIDE GEL ELECTROPHORESIS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2005
Information about genetic diversity and relationships among the breeding materials has a signifi cant impact on crop improvement. Association between parental divergence and progeny performance has not been well documented in cotton.

PHYLOGENETIC ANALYSIS OF BACTERIAL COMMUNITIES IN PANCURAN 7 BATURRADEN HOT SPRING [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The diversity of the bacterial communities supported by culturing and capturing through 0.2 m-pore-size filter was studied. The Pancuran 7 hot spring has temperature at around 52°C and pH 7.

The C‐terminal region of KIF26B is indispensable for nephron progenitor condensation and kidney formation in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KIF26B plays an important role in kidney development. We engineered mice lacking the C‐terminal region of KIF26B and found severe kidney defects, including bilateral renal agenesis, similar to full Kif26b knockout mice. The mutation disrupted nephron progenitor condensation and reduced Gdnf‐Wnt11 signaling, showing that the KIF26B C‐terminal region is ...

Lipopolysaccharide uptake is augmented in lipopolysaccharide‐tolerant mouse macrophage‐like cells via increased CD14 expression

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In normal (nontolerant) cells, CD14 is crucial for both LPS uptake and LPS signaling. In LPS‐tolerant cells, in which LPS‐induced TNF‐α and IFN‐β production is suppressed, there is a dramatic increase in surface CD14 expression. The overexpressed CD14 in LPS‐tolerant cells is responsible for the enhanced LPS uptake without inducing pro‐inflammatory ...

Polysaccharide as a Separation Medium for Gel Electrophoresis

open access: yesPolysaccharides
Gel electrophoresis and size exclusion chromatography (SEC) are vital techniques in biochemical research, employing gel matrix structures made of polysaccharides or synthetic polymers like polyacrylamide for the analysis and separation of macromolecules.

Non-denaturing polyacrylamide gradient gel electrophoresis for the diagnosis of dysbetalipoproteinemia

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2003
Dysbetalipoproteinemia, an uncommon but highly atherogenic mixed hyperlipidemia due to the accumulation of remnants of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins, is characterized by cholesterol-enriched VLDL that migrates in the β-position on agarose gels.

Determination of the number of proteins in liver ribosomes and ribosomal subunits by two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1972
The number of proteins in rat liver ribosomes was determined by two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. There were 30 proteins in the 40 S subunit, 39 in the 60 S subunit.

Versatile vector tools for efficient protein screening across multiple expression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A unified vector toolkit enables rapid protein expression screening across E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells. A single primer pair amplifies the target gene, which is inserted into any vector via a standardized interface. This streamlined workflow eliminates repeated cloning steps, accelerating the identification of optimal expression conditions for

Polyacrylamide slab gel electrophoresis: An improved design

open access: yes, 1979
An apparatus for polyacrylamide slab gel electrophoresis is decribed which combines all parts into one integral unit. It eliminates several steps in the process of sealing, pouring, and setting the gels.

Loss of AMBRA1 activates MAPK and angiogenesis signaling pathways in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Loss of AMBRA1 in melanoma cells activates multiple oncogenic pathways associated with tumor progression. Transcriptomic and protein network analyses revealed that AMBRA1 depletion enhances MAPK/ERK signaling, angiogenesis, TGF‐β/EMT signaling, and Wnt/axon guidance pathways.
