Blue-native PAGE in plants: a tool in analysis of protein-protein interactions

open access: yesPlant Methods, 2005
Intact protein complexes can be separated by apparent molecular mass using a standard polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis system combining mild detergents and the dye Coomassie Blue.

A simple method of drying polyacrylamide slab gels that eliminates cracking

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2021
The polyacrylamide slab gel is the most common gel format for analyzing protein samples by electrophoresis. Drying these gels is useful in many biological applications; for example, autoradiography, in which radiolabeled proteins are separated to enable ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Metallothionein detection in polyacrylamide gel by electrophoresis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Metalotioneini (MT) su mali peptidi prisutni u stanicama mnogih organizama. Zbog male molekulske mase i specifične strukture, koju čini jedan polipeptidni lanac bogat cisteinom i metalni ioni vezani u njegovom središtu, njihova detekcija i kvantifikacija

Electrophoretic analysis, labeling and isolation of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii flagellum membrane proteins

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2015
SDS-polyacrylamide electrophoretic patterns of Chlamydomonas flagellum membrane proteins displayad 6 fractions, 3 PAS-positive among them. The surface radiolabeling of the flagellum membrane suggested an outer surface exposure of fraction '5', and ...

Performance comparison of gel and capillary electrophoresis-based microsatellite genotyping strategies in a population research and kinship testing framework

open access: yesBMC Research Notes, 2021
Objective The advancement of molecular techniques in an era in which high-throughput sequencing has revolutionized biology renders old-fashioned alternatives to high-throughput methods obsolete.

Iron-regulated proteins in Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Lentinula edodes: Differential analysis by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis profiles

open access: yes, 2015
Sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) were used to identify iron-responsive proteins in the white-rot species (Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Lentinula edodes), by comparing ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Elution of proteins from polyacrylamide eels: a simple and economic procedure

open access: yesRevista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo, 1989
A simplified methodology for the quantitative electroelution of proteins from polyacrylamide gels is described. After staining with Coomassie Brilliant Blue R 250, the identified bands are excised from the gel and the proteins eluted using a procedure ...

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
