Electrophysiological responses of crayfish oocytes to biogenic amines
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Molecular & Integrative Physiology, 2000Intracellular recordings were made from immature, growing oocytes of the crayfish Pacifastacus leniusciulus. Oocytes had a relatively negative resting potential of -74.7+/-2.2 mV (n=26; range -53 to -90) and a mean input resistance of 0.86+/-0.19 MOmega (n=22; range 0.17-3.3).

Influence of Alcohol on Electrophysiological Responses to Facial Stimuli
Alcohol, 1999A facial discrimination task adapted for use in an event-related potential paradigm was administered to 15 male subjects following oral administration of placebo and 0.56 g/kg alcohol. The stimuli (digital photographs of males and females with happy, sad and neutral facial expressions) generated a series of waves including a prominent positive ...

Gender differences in electrophysiological responses to facial stimuli
Biological Psychiatry, 1998A facial discrimination task was adapted to be used in an event-related potential (ERP) paradigm in order to evaluate whether young women's brain responses to affective stimuli differed from those of young men.The stimuli used to generate a late positive component of the ERP, designated the "P450," were male and female faces with neutral, sad, or happy

Electrophysiological and behavioral correlates of psychomotor responsivity in depression
Biological Psychiatry, 1987Psychomotor retardation is a frequently observed clinical feature of depressive states. This study attempted to assess the relationship between response slowness and central nervous system (CNS) activity by examining cortical evoked potentials (EPs) during psychomotor task performance. Patients consisted of 21 women who met Research Diagnostic Criteria

Clinical and Electrophysiological Responses to Dietary Challenge in Migraineurs
Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, 1989SYNOPSIS Thirty eight patients with a history of diet‐induced migraine were studied with recording of clinical responses, electro‐encephalography in resting state, in response to photic stimulation, and to hyperventilation and visual evoked potentials.

The Effects of Tocainide on Audiological and Electrophysiological Responses in Humans
Ear and Hearing, 1985This study reports on the systematic audiological evaluation of 18 cardiac patients receiving tocainide, an orally administered cardiac antiarrhythmic agent. The results of an audiological site of lesion test battery were compared with auditory brain stem response (ABR) measures.

Electrophysiological Responses After Vitrectomy and Intraocular Tamponade
Retina, 1985Earlier reports of changes in the electroretinogram (ERG) following intravitreal liquid silicone in animal eyes have been conflicting. There is little information on the effects of vitrectomy and intravitreal tamponade by gas or liquid silicone on retinal function in humans. The effects on retinal function of intraocular tamponade by liquid silicone (1,

Asynchronies in the Development of Electrophysiological Responses to Motion and Color
Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience, 2004Abstract Recent reports have documented greater plasticity in the dorsal visual stream as compared with the ventral visual stream. This study sought to test the hypothesis that this greater plasticity may be related to a more protracted period of development in the dorsal as compared with the ventral stream.
