Alternating wenckebach periodicity: A common electrophysiologic response

The American Journal of Cardiology, 1975
Alternating Wenckebach periods are defined as episodes of 2:1 atrioventricular (A-V) block in which conducted P-R intervals progressively prolong, terminating in two or three blocked P waves. In this study, His bundle recordings were obtained in 13 patients with pacing-induced alternating Wenckebach periods.

Electrophysiological response of rat ventricular myocytes to acidosis

American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology, 2002
The effects of acidosis on the action potential, resting potential, L-type Ca2+( ICa), inward rectifier potassium ( IK1), delayed rectifier potassium ( IK), steady-state ( ISS), and inwardly rectifying chloride ( ICl,ir) currents of rat subepicardial (Epi) and subendocardial (Endo) ventricular myocytes were investigated using the patch-clamp technique.

Electrophysiological Responses to Sensory Stimulation Under Hypnosis

American Journal of Psychiatry, 1968
EEG, EKG, respiratory rate, and galvanic skin response were recorded from a normal 23-year-old male subject under photic and auditory stimulation during a hypnotic session and a control nonhypnotic period. No appreciable differences in responses between the two conditions were found.

Isaacs' syndrome: Clinical and electrophysiological response to gabapentin

Muscle & Nerve, 2006
AbstractA patient with Isaacs' syndrome had generalized muscle spasms, twitching, and progressive muscle stiffness for 21 years. Electrodiagnostic study showed continuous spontaneous motor‐unit activity and the presence of M‐wave afterdischarges. He responded dramatically to treatment with carbamazepine but developed a drug rash; his treatment was ...
