Miniaturized Electrospray Thrusters
IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2018Electrospray thrusters are a promising micropropulsion technology for CubeSats, among others, because they have the potential to provide high specific impulse. They avoid moving parts and allow a high degree of miniaturization. In combination with fabrication technologies from microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), miniaturization of individual ...

Electrospray Mass Spectrometry [PDF]
The objective in this chapter is to introduce the principles and methods of electrospray mass spectrometry (ESMS), a relatively new technique for the analysis of complex, polar, and labile molecules. Based on electrospray (ES) ionization at atmospheric pressure of solute species in volatile solvents, ESMS has attracted widespread interest only since ...

Electrospray deposition in vacuum
Applied Surface Science, 2006We have used the established technique of electrospray in developing a portable vacuum electrospray system which can deposit, in vacuo, dissolved molecules onto a sample which may then be analysed by UHV techniques. As an initial test of the system we have analysed silicon samples with an electrosprayed layer of poly(ethylene) oxide (PEO) using atomic ...

Electrospray mass spectrometry of
Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, 2000There has been a substantial growth in the application of mass spectrometry (MS) methods for the analysis of inorganic materials, due to the inherent sensitivity of mass spectrometry ionization to the specific composition and structure of the analyzed materials.

ELECTROSPRAYING A NANOPARTICULATE SUSPENSION
International Journal of Nanoscience, 2006This paper reports an investigation into electrospraying a nanosuspension containing nanoparticles sized at 5 nm and suspended in a polymer grade ethylene glycol. Hence, the processing of this nanosuspension in the stable cone-jet mode having an amorphous silica powder loading of 30 wt.% is elucidated.
