Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry of biotin binding to streptavidin [PDF]
Stepwise binding of biotin to streptavidin via several intermediates was monitored with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESIMS). Protein ligand interactions that result in conformational changes could be recognized with ESIMS by a mass shift and a change of the average multiple charge state of this protein.

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry with wooden tips: A review
Electrospray ionization (ESI) is a powerful ionization technique in mass spectrometry (MS). There has been an increasing interest for the new development of ESI technique to extend its applications. ESI-MS with wooden tips (wooden-tip ESI-MS), an ESI technique invented in 2011, enabled not only new applications but also new insights into the ESI ...

Topoisomer Differentiation of Molecular Knots by FTICR MS: Lessons from Class II Lasso Peptides [PDF]
Lasso peptides constitute a class of bioactive peptides sharing a knotted structure where the C-terminal tail of the peptide is threaded through and trapped within an N-terminalmacrolactamring. The structural characterization of lasso structures and differentiation from their unthreaded topoisomers is not trivial and generally requires the use of ...

Electrospray Post-Ionization Mass Spectrometry of Electrosurgical Aerosols [PDF]
The feasibility of electrospray (ES) ionization of aerosols generated by electrosurgical disintegration methods was investigated. Although electrosurgery itself was demonstrated to produce gaseous ions, post-ionization methods were implemented to enhance the ion yield, especially in those cases when the ion current produced by the applied ...

Deep Learning Approach for Dynamic Sampling for Multichannel Mass Spectrometry Imaging [PDF]
Mass Spectrometry Imaging (MSI), using traditional rectilinear scanning, takes hours to days for high spatial resolution acquisitions. Given that most pixels within a sample's field of view are often neither relevant to underlying biological structures nor chemically informative, MSI presents as a prime candidate for integration with sparse and dynamic

Characterization of Noncovalent Complexes of Polyelectrolytes by Mass Spectrometry [PDF]
Various ions of poly-L-lysine and polystyrene sulfonic acid were successfully observed first within a matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometer and subsequently in an electrospray ionization mass spectrometer.

Gas phase characterization of the noncovalent quaternary structure of Cholera toxin and the Cholera toxin B subunit pentamer [PDF]
Cholera toxin (CTx) is an AB5 cytotonic protein that has medical relevance in cholera and as a novel mucosal adjuvant. Here, we report an analysis of the noncovalent homopentameric complex of CTx B chain (CTx B5) using electrospray ionization triple ...

Electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry of monoketone curcuminoids [PDF]
RationaleAlthough monoketone curcuminoids (MKCs) have been largely investigated due to their biological activities, data on the gas‐phase fragmentation reactions of protonated MKCs under collision‐induced dissociation (CID) conditions are still scarce.
