Identification of fatty acids by electrospray mass spectrometry and tandem mass spectrometry
Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 1996Low-energy negative-ion electrospray mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) and ESI-MS/MS were used to characterize saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. The carbon number and degree of unsaturation of fatty acids were determined using ESI-MS, and MS/MS was used to localize some double bond positions of mono-and polyunsaturated fatty acids.

ACCURATE MASS ANALYSIS OF PHOSPHORAMIDITES BY ELECTROSPRAY MASS SPECTROMETRY
Nucleosides, Nucleotides & Nucleic Acids, 2005A method of accurate mass determination of phosphoramidites is described. The commonly used methanol/water/acid system was replaced by LiCl-containing acetonitrile and the concentrations of LiCl, poly(ethylene glycol), and phosphoramidite samples were optimized.

Determination of micelle mass by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry
Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 2005AbstractBy electrospray ionization (ESI) mass spectrometry, micelle solutions of sodium cholate were investigated in detail in the presence and absence of ethanol. The average aggregation number could be evaluated from the spectra acquired under conditions where soft collisions adequate to measure the micelle solution were induced, and the value agreed

ELECTROSPRAY AS AN IONISATION METHOD FOR MASS SPECTROMETRY
Journal of Aerosol Science, 1999Abstract One of the methods by which large and non-volatile molecules, especially those of biochemical interest, can be made amenable to mass spectrometry (MS) is electrospray (ES) ionisation. In ES MS the technique of electrohydrodynamic spraying of liquids is used to produce gas-phase ions from sample molecules present in a diluted solution, which ...

Characterization of Alkaloids By Electrospray Mass Spectrometry
Natural Product Letters, 1992Abstract Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry is a useful new technique for structure determination of alkaloids in solution. Incredibly clean spectra of quinine, strychnine, solasodine, yohimbine, pentazocine and metazocine show only the protonated molecular ion.

Electrospray mass spectrometry of fossil fuels
International Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 2000Abstract Exploratory experiments with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry have been carried out on crude oil, jet fuel, gasoline, and coal. The resulting mass spectra contain a remarkable amount of information on the composition and character of these sometimes very complex materials.

Desorption Electrospray Mass Spectrometry
2014This chapter encompasses applications, fundamentals, instrumentation and future perspectives of desorption electrospray ionization (DESI) mass spectrometry (MS). Since it was first reported in 2004, DESI has paved the way for the development of ambient ionization MS with a wide variety of applications ranging from the analysis of pharmaceutical and ...
